We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Flor Bromley. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Flor below.
Flor, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
One of the most meaningful projects I’ve worked on is my 2021 album *Pachamama*. This album is deeply personal because it is a tribute to Mother Earth and the cultural roots that shaped me. Growing up in Peru, I was surrounded by traditions that celebrated the earth as a living entity, and these values instilled in me a profound respect for nature. *Pachamama* was born from my desire to pass these values to the next generation, using music as a bridge between cultures and a call to action to protect our planet.
The album’s creation was a journey of love and purpose. Each of the 21 songs (10 in English and their correspondent song in Spanish plus and added bilingual song) reflect a different aspect of our relationship with nature, blending traditional Latin American rhythms with global sounds to create an inclusive celebration of the earth. The process brought together a community of talented musicians and artists, all committed to creating something meaningful for children and families.
What makes *Pachamama* especially significant to me is the impact it has had on audiences. Performing songs like “Pachamama” and seeing children engage with themes of nature and cultural acknowledgment fills me with hope. The album has been used as an educational tool in classrooms and family programs, encouraging conversations about sustainability and cultural heritage. The songs have been played globally in Kids Place Live Sirius XM. The recognition it received, including a National Parenting Product Award (NAPPA), affirmed its importance and reach. Through *Pachamama*, I feel I’ve created a body of work that reflects my heritage, connects communities, and inspires a better future.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Hi! I’m Flor Bromley, a Latin GRAMMY®-nominated singer-songwriter, actress, and storyteller originally from Peru. I create bilingual music and live performances that blend Latin culture with global rhythms, storytelling, and puppetry to engage audiences of all ages and backgrounds. My work is centered around using the arts to educate, inspire, and celebrate diversity, particularly through the lens of family and community.
I got into music and performing arts at a young age, influenced by the vibrant cultural traditions of my Peruvian heritage. After earning a degree in acting, I moved to New York to pursue my dream of combining music, theater, and storytelling into a unique artistic practice. I’ve released four family albums, including *Pachamama*, a celebration of Mother Earth, and *Aventuras*, which earned a Latin GRAMMY® nomination. My music has been featured on Sirius XM’s Kids Place Live and PBS’s *Let’s Learn*, and I perform across the country at museums, theaters, and festivals.
What sets me apart is my ability to create experiences that are not just entertaining but also deeply meaningful. My music invites families to dance, learn, and connect with one another, while celebrating the richness of diverse cultures. I’m proud to say my work has been recognized by organizations like the American Library Association, the National Parenting Product Awards, and major songwriting competitions, recently winning the USA Songwriting Competition for my song “Dreamland” in the Children’s Category.
Above all, I want people to know that my mission is to foster empathy and unity through the arts, empowering children and families to see themselves reflected in the stories I tell and the music I create. My work is a celebration of identity, community, and the beauty of a multicultural world.

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
In my view, society can best support artists by investing in the arts at every level. This means providing access to funding, resources, and opportunities for artists from all backgrounds, especially those who are underrepresented. Grants, public art programs, and artist residencies are crucial, but so is ensuring that artists have access to spaces to create and perform.
Education plays a vital role, too. We need to prioritize arts education in schools and communities so that children can develop their creativity and understand the value of the arts from a young age. By nurturing future generations of artists and creative thinkers, we create a more vibrant, empathetic society.
Additionally, society can support artists by celebrating their work and recognizing its impact. Whether it’s attending performances, purchasing art, streaming their music, or simply sharing and promoting creative projects, individual and community involvement can make a big difference. Advocacy for fair compensation and copyright protections for artists is also essential to ensure that creative work is valued as the intellectual and emotional labor it is.
Ultimately, supporting artists means recognizing that the arts are not a luxury—they are fundamental to our humanity, our cultural identity, and our ability to connect and grow as a society. By uplifting the arts, we create a more inclusive, inspired, and thriving world for everyone.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Yes, my creative journey is driven by a deep desire to educate, inspire, and celebrate diversity. Through my music, I aim to create a bridge that connects people of all ages and backgrounds, showing them that within diversity lies empathy, and that our shared stories make us stronger. As an immigrant, a mother, and a bilingual artist, my mission is to empower the next generation to embrace their own uniqueness and to recognize the beauty in others.
I believe in the power of storytelling and music to transform lives and open minds. Whether it’s celebrating cultural traditions, honoring Mother Earth, or highlighting the incredible contributions of women throughout history, my work is rooted in using art as a tool for social change and connection. My ultimate goal is to leave a legacy of love, inclusivity, and understanding—one song, one story, and one community at a time.
