FlightRisk , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
I’ve always wanted to be a rapper since a kid , so I always took it serious, my first time performing in front of a audience, I was 9 years of age , from then I never gave up even through my trials and tribulations.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m a street awareness artist. I create music with a message to help guide others that’s on a similar path as I was in a better direction. I’m also a brand owner/ambassador FlightRisk Street Wear which provides all types of apparel for men women boys and girls, I’m also a youth speaker in my community.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Throughout my journey, I ran into Several obstacles, one was getting incarcerated for 12 years , All while still wanting to be a rap artist, so I had to embed it in my mind that I will still pursue my music career once released , so I knew that I had to stay sharp and stay in tune with the music so I could be able to make music that would relate to the times at hand. I had to block out all distractions and have tunnel vision to only see the success that lies ahead, all while surviving in prison and keeping a sane mind .BE sure to check out my latest single Collect real ones (remix) Featuring Killer Mike !
What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
Raise creator awareness early on , and share the importance of creating, let the people know that real pleasure is when you visualize in your mind and bring it to life, if more people did it. that would help the community and economy especially once your able to employ others…
