We were lucky to catch up with Fjolla Beka recently and have shared our conversation below.
Fjolla, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Coming up with the idea is so exciting, but then comes the hard part – executing. Too often the media ignores the execution part and goes from idea to success, skipping over the nitty, gritty details of executing in the early days. We think that’s a disservice both to the entrepreneurs who built something amazing as well as the public who isn’t getting a realistic picture of what it takes to succeed. So, we’d really appreciate if you could open up about your execution story – how did you go from idea to execution?
I started working at just 18 in a local beauty studio, where I quickly became known for my exceptional brow work. I formed strong relationships with the clients because of my natural talent and dedication, and they always returned specifically for me. Seeing how much demand there was for expert brow services, I recognized a gap in the market that there were no Brow Only studios, and decided to take the leap. That’s how I opened the city’s first brow-only studio, a bold move that really paid off!
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
About Myself & How I Got Started:
I’ve always had a love for beauty and helping people feel their best. I started working in a beauty studio at just 18, and it didn’t take long before I realized that brows were my passion. I developed close relationships with my clients, and I became known for perfecting brows—it was something I just had a natural talent for. As time went on, I noticed a gap in the market: there wasn’t a studio that specialized solely in brows. I took a chance, and I opened the first brow-only studio in the city, which turned out to be an amazing move.
What We Offer:
At Brows by Fjolla, we specialize in brow shaping, microblading, tinting, and other brow-focused services. We also offer personalized consultations to give each client a tailored experience. Our services are designed to enhance natural beauty, and we aim to give each person confidence through the power of great brows.
Problems We Solve & What Sets Us Apart:
Brows are such an important feature, and when done right, they can transform your entire face, theyre the first part people express their opinions with. We help people who might not be happy with their natural brows, whether they’re thin, patchy, or misshapen, by giving them a look that’s symmetrical and flattering. What sets us apart is our attention to detail and our personalized approach to every client. We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all; we listen to what the client wants and what suits their natural beauty.
What We’re Most Proud Of:
I’m incredibly proud of the relationships we’ve built with our clients. Many of them have been with us from the very beginning. It’s not just about the service; it’s about the trust we’ve earned. I’m also proud of creating a space where people feel comfortable and beautiful, and I’m proud of our team for always pushing the brand forward and giving their best every day.
What I Want People to Know:
If there’s one thing I want people to know about Brows by Fjolla, it’s that we’re committed to quality and care in everything we do. We’re not just shaping brows; we’re boosting confidence. Not make people can say that they make other people feel beautiful. We do.
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
Word of mouth. I know we’ve been in the social media era for 10+ yrs now, but in my opinion, still the number 1 most reliable source is gaining the clients trust, and them spreading the word out. No one wants to visit you more than a person whos been told by a close person of theirs that your services are fire. Make sure you be-friend your clients, listen to them, care about them and they will repay you in many more ways.
Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
Different people require different managing. You have to set principles that everyone has to follow, but everyone requires different close up management. You gotta read and analyze their personalities, to understand how you can get the best out of them. One size fits all is wrong in managing.
