We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Fiona Quiban. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Fiona below.
Hi Fiona, thanks for joining us today. What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
The legacy that I am hoping to build is to highlight the incredible food experiences I’ve enjoyed while living in Colorado and around the world. My journey has allowed me to discover and appreciate various delicious and unique places, each with its own story and flavor. Sharing these experiences through my Instagram and TikTok has been incredibly rewarding, especially when friends, family, and my audience reach out to tell me how much they enjoyed my recommendations.
Supporting local businesses, whether they are big or small, is a passion of mine. I believe in the power of food to bring people together and to showcase the rich tapestry of cultures within Colorado. It’s fascinating to explore different communities and their amazing food offerings, and I take great joy in sharing these discoveries with others.
What I hope to be remembered for is my dedication to celebrating and promoting the vibrant food scene in Colorado. I want to be known as someone who not only explored and enjoyed diverse cuisines but also encouraged others to do the same. I hope that people will remember me as someone who inspired a love for food, culture, and community, and who helped support and uplift local businesses.
In the end, I want my legacy to be one of connection—connecting people with great food, with new experiences, and with each other. I hope that through my efforts, others will continue to explore, savor, and support the incredible food scene that Colorado has to offer.

Fiona, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Fiona, also known as Bonappetitmysweet on Instagram and TikTok. I am a Colorado foodie content creator and traveler. The username Bonappetitmysweet was born with the help of my best friend, who suggested combining my love for sweets with the phrase “bon appétit.” I wanted something unique and catchy, and it has stuck with me ever since.
I started my food Instagram at the beginning of 2020. At first, I started by posting stories of the food places I visited on my personal account. My friends and family were constantly asking me about the restaurants or dessert places I featured, which inspired me to create a separate account dedicated to these food adventures. The support from my friends and family was overwhelming, and many of them followed my new food account.
However, the timing was challenging as the COVID-19 pandemic hit shortly after I launched my food Instagram. With most restaurants having to shut down their dining rooms and switch to to-go orders, it wasn’t an ideal time to start. Despite this, I continued to post about the food places I visited and reviewed, even if many of them were for takeout. As restrictions began to lift towards the end of 2020 and into 2021, I started to explore and share more food places in Colorado and my travels to Hawaii, San Francisco, Las Vegas, and many more.
Engaging with other foodies and supporting their posts has been an important part of my journey. I love sharing my passion for food and connecting with others who feel the same way. This interaction has also led to restaurants and food product companies reaching out to me for promotions, which I eagerly embraced. These opportunities have deepened my connection to the food culture in Colorado and beyond.
I am most proud of the community I’ve built and the positive feedback I receive from my audience. My goal is to inspire others to explore new culinary experiences and support local businesses. I believe what sets me apart is my genuine passion for discovering and sharing diverse food experiences and my dedication to supporting the food community.
For those new to my work, I want you to know that my content is all about celebrating the joy of food and travel. I aim to provide honest reviews, engaging stories, and a sense of adventure in every post. Whether you’re looking for restaurant recommendations, travel food guides, or just a bit of food inspiration, Bonappetitmysweet is here to share the journey with you.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Engage, engage, engage! Building an audience on social media has been all about genuine engagement for me. Without actively engaging, I don’t think I would have the loyal and enthusiastic following that I have today. I make it a point to connect with other foodies not only in Colorado but also across the country and around the world. It’s incredibly exciting to see and learn about food places from different regions and cultures.
Engagement is more than just liking and commenting; it’s about building relationships and fostering a sense of community. By consistently interacting with my audience and fellow foodies, I’ve been able to make many foodie friends. These connections are rooted in our shared passion for food, and they’ve enriched my social media experience immensely.
For anyone just starting to build their social media presence, my advice is to focus on authentic engagement. Respond to comments, participate in conversations, and show genuine interest in others’ content. Share your own experiences and insights and be consistent in your interactions. Building a community takes time and effort, but it’s incredibly rewarding.
My goal is to cultivate a vibrant foodie community where we can share amazing food experiences and create lasting friendships. Social media is a powerful tool for connecting with others who share your passions, and through meaningful engagement, you can build a supportive and enthusiastic audience.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
For me, the most rewarding aspect of being a foodie content creator is the sheer joy of sharing places that I genuinely love, whether they are in Colorado, another state, or another country. I take great pleasure in posting about my experiences and reactions to the food I’ve tried. It’s incredibly fulfilling to interact with my audience, discussing their experiences and whether they enjoyed the places I recommended.
The connections I make through my food Instagram and TikTok are invaluable. I love engaging with my followers and hearing their stories and recommendations. Discovering new restaurants and food spots based on their suggestions is a continuous source of inspiration. This sense of community and the shared passion for food is what makes being a content creator so rewarding for me.
Ultimately, it’s the connections and shared experiences that make this journey so special. Through my food Instagram and TikTok, I’ve been able to explore and enjoy new culinary adventures and foster a community of like-minded foodies. This sense of connection and discovery is what I find most rewarding about being a foodie content creator.
