We were lucky to catch up with Fernando Wicker recently and have shared our conversation below.
Fernando , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
What do I think it takes to be successful? Everything that’s within you . Success doesn’t come until you work on personal development . I failed to realize that at first . But over the last year I’ve been working on myself and saw my business get more engagement than ever. Also everyone has their own definition of being successful . I think being successful is not being satisfied . Without success you have to fail . Adversity shows a man whom he really is.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Hello I’m Fernando Wicker , creative director of WiCkClothing brand . This brand was made by mistake . Anybody knows me knows that I constantly state that 2019 was one of the roughest years of my life . I hit rock bottom mentally with no assistance. My first week of getting merchandise I sold over $10,000 Worth of merchandise . But I sold over $8,000 in one day . I haven’t look back since . I’ve build this organically. I created this brand not to look good in clothes but to build a culture around the truth . So many people are living but not present . Majority want cookie cutter results and majority make excuses for no specific reason . I wanted people to know that they can do things beyond their imagination, you just have to have core values and morals . Daily habits dictates your future . “Show me the man that makes the most mistakes and I’ll show you a wise man “, stated Wes Watson..

Behind the cougar
Cougar symbolises Cougar- LOGO

Enigma-a person or thing that is mysterious or difficult to understand.
Wisdom – the quality of having experience, knowledge, and good judgement; the quality of being wise.
Solitude-the state or situation of being alone.
Relentless until satisfied !
They go after their desire with no explanation.
Loyalty
The cougar symbolises enigma, wisdom, & assertiveness. They are not satisfied until they get what they want .
I think one of the most achievements that I’m very proud of is from my team and I have donated over $20,000 dollars to families in need at the beginning of the school year . July 16 is when it was held . On my birthday I just wanted to give back . Even though it costs us a lot of money to get those merchandise . The smiles on the families face was worth seeing . I’ll rather make an impact on the community .
I think what sets me apart is I’m very attentive to detail and I’m honored to have ran my business alone . It was a lot of long nights and early mornings . I’ve build a great thing but it couldn’t been done without my supporters , family , & friends . I’m going to continue to build this legacy. I want the world and everything in it .
I want everybody who put on our clothes to know that you have to stand on your very own morals and beliefs. Before you purchase our merchandise . If not this isn’t for you and I’ll happily call you out . Everybody needs a mean guy in their life . Life is too short to be trying to spare feelings . Stand on your beliefs and be yourself is the most authentic gift you can receive .
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
My first couple drops were great . After that I had to start digging into my personal check to fund my business . I went into debt trying to fund my business. But I’ll always bet on myself so no excuses . While I was buying clothes that nobody was buying , I went broke trying to help friends . Things ain’t always greener on the other side . So I had to go to the drawing board and revamp . I had to figure out nobody was going to push my brand more than me . Family and friends wanted free clothes . Shit was overwhelmingly. I definitely matured business wise . I’m now starting to hire a team to conduct my business . I’ve brought courses and mentors and it didn’t work for me . Word of advice , it’s many people with courses claiming to sell stuff but have very vague courses . If sad but the truth . I never stopped investing into myself . I’m still doing it til this day . I know my vision and can’t unseen it.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Being authentic. People can tell when you faking especially behind a camera . I never went outside my morals or beliefs to get sells. I never hop on any trends to get sells . I could care less what another brand doing . This is an authentic culture over here and we ain’t changing .
