We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Fernanda Romero a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Fernanda, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Are you happy as a creative professional? Do you sometimes wonder what it would be like to work for someone else?
I’ve always wondered what would happen if I worked in an office and had to punch in from 9 to 5. Would I be happy? Would I be satisfied? I don’t think so because I like to be my own boss and have my own rhythm. I’ve tried being in a corporate environment, but it didn’t work for me. It’s very structured, and I like to think outside the box. I enjoy exploring new places and having a variety in my life. Having a 9 to 5 job wouldn’t allow me to live the life I’ve had since I was 16

Fernanda, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I had this from another interview I hope it helps.

What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
n my view, society can best support artists, creatives, and a thriving creative ecosystem by fostering a culture of mutual inspiration and support. It’s crucial for artists to inspire, help, and uplift each other, which can sometimes be challenging in urban environments where everyone is focused on their individual journeys. Unfortunately, some individuals may withhold celebrations or contacts out of fear that others might overshadow them. This reluctance can be disheartening.
However, it’s heartening to see various groups that thrive on collaboration and shared growth. Many artists are on personal journeys, and stepping outside the norm to uplift each other can lead to greater achievements collectively
