Hi Fernanda , thanks for joining us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
The idea of Merengón Colombia was born out of my passion to create a business that shares my Colombian culture with our community in Nashville. As an entrepreneur and passionate about natural and high-quality products, I have always been interested in creating unique and authentic experiences that connect with people. But as a mom of two young children, I also wanted to create something that would allow me to be at home with them and be a role model of determination and passion for my family. Merengón Colombia has given me the opportunity to do exactly that. It allows me to work from home, be present in my children’s important moments, and at the same time, pursue my dream of sharing my culture and passion with the community. Merengón Colombia has also given me the opportunity to practice every detail of our brand, from creating my packaging and logo to designing my uniforms and event stands. I love the freedom to apply my knowledge and skills in marketing and design to create a brand that is authentic and attractive. For me, Merengón Colombia is more than just a business – it is a way to empower myself as a woman and share my vision with the community. It is a reminder that women can achieve anything we set our minds to, as long as we have the determination and passion to do so. And, most importantly, it is an example for my children that with hard work and dedication, we can achieve our dreams and be happy in the process.

I’m a passionate entrepreneur dedicated to natural and high-quality products, with a clear vision to share my Latin American culture and roots with the Nashville community. My company, Merengón Colombia, offers a variety of natural and high-quality products that reflect the rich cultural heritage of my country of origin, such as fresh and delicious meringues, traditional desserts, and artisanal products. My goal is to solve the problem of finding natural and high-quality products that are authentic and reflect the tropical essence of my heritage. I want my customers to feel like they’re enjoying the rich culture and delicious food of Latin America. What sets me apart is my passion for my culture and my commitment to the quality and authenticity of my products. I’m proud to have created a brand that reflects my passion and culture, and I’m committed to the quality and authenticity of our products.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
One of the stories that I love to remember as an example of my resilience is when I started Merengón Colombiano. I recall that one of my biggest motivations was the fact that Colombians supported me a lot from the very beginning.
In fact, many of my fellow Colombians were among my first customers, and their support and encouragement meant a lot to me. It was a reminder that I was not only building a business, but also a community.
However, as time went on, I faced numerous challenges and setbacks. There were times when I doubted myself and my ability to succeed. But every time I felt like giving up, I thought about the support and encouragement of my fellow Colombians.

How’d you meet your business partner?
My business partner and companion is someone very special: my mom. From the beginning, she has been my greatest support and motivation for creating and growing Merengón Colombiano.
Together, we have worked hard to build a business that not only is successful but also reflects our values and passion for Colombian culture.
One of my mom’s most notable contributions has been the creation of our traditional Colombian drinks, such as salpicón and panela lemonade. These drinks not only are delicious but also evoke the nostalgia and tradition of our culture.
My mom has been more than just a partner: she has been my mentor, guide, and friend. Her wisdom and experience have been fundamental to my growth as an entrepreneur, and her unconditional support has given me the confidence to move forward even in the toughest moments.
I’m grateful to have my mom by my side on this business journey. Together, we’re creating something truly special.
