Today we’d like to introduce you to Felix Levine.
Hi Felix, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I first started growing a brand for myself through podcasting. My Freshman year of college I attended UCSB and I hated it. As a born and bred New Yorker, specifically from Brooklyn, being in a place like Santa Barbara was not for me. Although it’s beautiful, I missed the gritty East Coast. However, because of the fact that I was miserable there, I just randomly started listening to podcasts and figured I should start one. This was before EVERYONE had a show. I just was curious by people and wanted to be able to ask people I was fascinated by, any question I wanted. I then later transferred back East to Boston University and fast forward 5+ years later now, I’ve been able to sit down with everyone from former hitmen in the Mafia, to World Champion Athletes, politicians, to your favorite Bachelor Nation star. In the meantime, I’ve been able to couple this podcasting journey with my entrepreneurial aspirations. When I graduated college, I started a tech startup that ultimately failed and taught me A LOT about the startup and business world. Now, although podcasting is still something I’m passionate about, I’ve been able to slowly start adjacent ventures. I recently founded own venture investment syndicate called Chamomile Ventures, which is an influencer-led investment syndicate that focuses investment into top earlier stage consumer/CPG, and will be launching a CPG brand in the Spring of 2025. I can’t f***** wait.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It couldn’t be more rocky, haha. I think being an entrepreneur sounds “sexy” but it might be the least sexy life. The last 2.5 years since I graduated have been nothing but stressful, anxiety-provoking, and uncertain, but part of me finds comfort in that knowing that I’m still only 24. They have taught me a TREMENDOUS amount about myself, what I like and don’t like, what kinds of stability I want in my life, and how I get there. As a soon second-time founder, I can’t wait to apply everything I learned from my first company’s mistakes and lead this one to success. There’s just so much learning that happens in your 20’s and I feel it already. There have been many days where I’ve shed tears and felt down on myself, but I’ve always been an eternal optimist and I do believe half the battle is just putting your head down and doing the work. So we just keep going!
As you know, we’re big fans of Felix Levine Podcasting. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I recently built out my website for my podcasting business, Felix Levine Podcasting, that will give ANYONE around the world the ability to learn from me and how I grew my show at a high-level. On my website, you’ll be able to purchase my cost-effective ($149) course called “Under 24” which has 20 modules with 50+ videos, where I teach you everything you’d ever need to know to start, grow, and scale your podcast. This includes teaching you audio & video editing skills so you don’t have outsource the work, how to develop the concept of your show, how to clip effectively, promote on social media, book high-level guests, and set yourself up for monetization. For people based in NYC that want to record their show at my state-of-the-art studio, my website now allows you to do that as well. It basically is an all encompassing resource to be able to do your show the RIGHT way and learn from my 5+ years of experience and all the mistakes I made. All of that can be found at felixpodcasting.com.
Any big plans?
I have a very special project that I cannot talk about that will come out in 2025 (hint: that’s in the entertainment world.) I’m also gearing up for the launch of my CPG company in Q2/Q3 of 2025 which I am SO excited about. And on the venture side, my partner and I are having some very exciting conversations. I’m in this weird moment right now where I don’t feel successful, but I feel that I’m finding success in setting myself up for the future, if that makes sense. So all I’m trying to do now is put my head down and grind. I also want to continue developing my personal brand, as it’s so wildly important in 2025 to have your own distribution, platform, and brand.
