Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Felicity Hendricks. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Felicity, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. One of the things we most admire about small businesses is their ability to diverge from the corporate/industry standard. Is there something that you or your brand do that differs from the industry standard? We’d love to hear about it as well as any stories you might have that illustrate how or why this difference matters.

Modern Colonics is known for being different than most small businesses. Most people look at me like I’m crazy when I explain to them what it is that I do for a living. And that is okay because I would probably do the same thing if I were on the outside looking in!

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

I went to school to be a Health Coach originally. I remember looking for a place to practice health coaching and stumbled upon a wellness spa in Missouri in 2021. I started working front desk just to get my foot in the door and then the owner asks if I wanted to learn how to do closed colonics, which is the old school version of colon hydrotherapy, of course I said yes! So from there I had to get my first colonic and I loved it, oddly! Anxiety faded, brain fog faded, had a pep in my step afterwards. So she began to train me, I started school online to become I-ACT certified and ended up going to Texas to learn the most up-to-date system out there known as the open colonic or LIBBE. Fast forward through all of that my boss retired, a number of events happened and I ended up going on my own path through life and here I am just opening Modern Colonics May 1, 2023. Colonics are a gentle way to remove toxins from the colon with a 1.5” rectal tube, attached to a machine you hang out on for about 40 minutes to an hour and it flushes you out continually leaving you feeling rejuvenated and ready to take on your day, they are also used for constipation and prep for colonoscopies! I recommend one colonic today and one tomorrow, then the same thing the following week, followed up by monthly maintenance. A lot of people do not know we have 5-6 feet of colon and a lot of that old matter gets caked onto the walls over the years and it takes time to rinse that off and move it out! Colonics should be more talked about and less of a stigma.

Resilience is an incredibly appropriate word in my world. There has been a ton of hardship due to autoimmune issues in my life and that was a big reason I went into health coaching to try to heal myself. I have connected with so many amazing providers since and I hope to continue my journey with only health and healing.

Alright – let’s talk about marketing or sales – do you have any fun stories about a risk you’ve taken or something else exciting on the sales and marketing side?

I can tell you about my risk in taking on my business. Friends and family looked at me like I was crazy when I kept telling them I wanted to start my own colon hydrotherapy business. They figured I wouldn’t accumulate enough clientele and just the opposite happened and they are so happy for me and my new business!
