We were lucky to catch up with Felicia Linnen recently and have shared our conversation below.
Felicia, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What was it like going from idea to execution? Can you share some of the backstory and some of the major steps or milestones?
Having very little funding, I decided to launch my business in a shared kitchen. Afterwards, I focused on festivals and farmers markets to have more interaction with my supporters.
Felicia, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Hello, My name is Felicia Linnen and I am a veganpreneur. It is my goal and mission to introduce as many people as possible to a plant-based diet. I set out to cater not just to vegans but to non-vegans as well. I am most proud of my brick and mortar location.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
The main lesson that I have had to unlearn and to stop doubting myself and go big. I am learning to stop playing it safe and take more risks.
How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
I used my life savings and a small loan to start and launch Sweet Mustard HTX. It is my passion and something that I am passionate about and I think that it is shown in my foods. Next month will make one year that Sweet Mustard HTX has been in business with our location and we plan to launch our first crowdfunding campaign to help us fill in the cashflow gaps that comes with owning a small business during the pandemic.
