We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Felicia Jackson a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Felicia, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
I made a significant career switch – from a designer and creative director in fashion to a women’s health coach specializing in perimenopause. After 20 years of working in fashion, I knew I wanted to do something different with my life going forward. The question was – what gets me excited? Fashion had always been my passion, but I grew out of the industry as I got older. And I wanted to find a purpose that connected me with other women. Over the years, I had made my own health and wellness a priority and, in turn, had managed to alleviate the perimenopause symptoms that I was suffering from. It always returned to health and wellness when I thought about what excited me. And so, I took a leap and decided to make my lifestyle my new career and become certified as an Integrative Nutritional Health Coach. My goal is to help other women who are struggling with perimenopause symptoms find relief and balance in all areas of their life. I address physical symptoms and the mental/emotional turmoil that often comes along in midlife and can be exacerbated by the fluctuating hormones of perimenopause.
The ability to help women has been extremely rewarding and is vastly different from my success in fashion. There were few moments in my previous career when I felt like I was genuinely helping someone. Now, I have women thanking me for the information I’m providing in daily social media posts. It’s very gratifying and confirms that I made the right decision.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My journey began in the fast-paced world of fashion, where I spent nearly 20 years as a designer and creative director. However, my passion for health and wellness led me to a new path. As I focused on my own health, I realized I had eliminated many of the perimenopause symptoms that I was suffering from. I knew I wanted to help other women find the relief I had found for myself, and health coaching seemed like the perfect way to connect with women and help them in their health and wellness journey. I became certified as an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach and now I dedicate my career to helping perimenopausal women transform their lives just as I transformed mine.
I combine my creative background with my wellness expertise to offer a unique and holistic approach to women’s health coaching. My mission is to empower perimenopausal women to take charge of their well-being, rediscover their vitality, and live their best lives.
Having navigated my own perimenopause journey, I know firsthand the power of healing from within. I believe every woman deserves to thrive during midlife, not just survive it. Together, we focus on small, manageable lifestyle shifts that are both simple and sustainable. By balancing hormones through diet/nutrition, movement, stress reduction, and prioritizing mind/body connection, we tackle the frustrating symptoms of perimenopause—like weight gain, hot flashes, fatigue, brain fog, anxiety, insomnia, and even those less-discussed challenges like acne, thinning hair, and joint pain.
I also emphasize the importance of a midlife reset. Rediscovering an appreciation for who you are, the wisdom you’ve gained, and everything you’ve achieved leads to renewed sense of self-confidence. By cultivating balance in every area of your life, you create lasting improvements to your health and wellness that you’ll carry with you for years to come.
Together, we create a personalized plan to restore harmony to your body and mind, addressing your physical health and mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
My purpose is to have every woman conquer her perimenopause symptoms and have a life where she wakes up with a body full of energy and a clear, focused mind. And she goes to bed at night, looking forward to tomorrow instead of dreading it.

Training and knowledge matter of course, but beyond that what do you think matters most in terms of succeeding in your field?
I think authenticity is essential for succeeding as a women’s health coach. What makes you unique is what sets you apart as a coach. That can be hard to do when so much online noise influences what you say, act, and look like. It isn’t easy to separate yourself and do something that might seem different.
However, in the end, a fresh perspective and relatable approach will attract clients and keep them coming back. I value being approachable as a coach, which helps clients develop attainable goals that they can see themselves achieving by working with me.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
I developed a quiz as a lead magnet that has effectively obtained new email subscribers, who are all potential clients. I focused on creating an entertaining quiz with very relatable questions and scenarios. At the same time, the results are full of practical and realistic tips, tricks, and strategies to help women find relief from the perimenopause symptoms they are struggling with. I also have an email sequence that allows my subscribers to get to know me, trust me, and look forward to receiving my communications.
