Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Felecity Havens . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Felecity , thanks for joining us today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – walk us through the story?
My life’s philosophy centers on embracing risks and fostering belief in myself and those around me. The most significant risk I’ve undertaken was the day I made the decision to step away from professional basketball and pursue alternative goals and creative ventures. In the period leading up to my journey to Greece, I found myself with unprecedented downtime, free from the usual obligations of sports and academics. Over the span of six months, I immersed myself in various pursuits—I picked up photography, acquired a laptop, delved into graphic design, launched a podcast, explored the intricacies of marketing, and delved into the stories of different entrepreneurs. I became engrossed in countless avenues, diligently sowing the seeds of my newfound interests.
Upon arriving in Greece in August, I was awestruck by Athens and the realization that I had achieved a goal I had harbored since childhood. However, as the basketball season progressed, I began to sense a growing feeling of unfulfillment—a sensation entirely foreign to me since my basketball journey began. After weeks of introspection, prayer, and heartfelt conversations with loved ones, I grappled with the realization that my passions lay elsewhere. I found myself consumed by the ideas and interests that had blossomed before my arrival in Greece.
Ultimately, I made the courageous decision to trust my instincts. I recognized that I owed it to myself, as well as to those around me, to wholeheartedly commit to endeavors that resonated with my innermost desires. Thus, in 2020, I returned to the United States, where I embarked on the journey of actualizing the visions that had been planted in my heart.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
The biggest question that I hate is when someone asks me “What do you do.” I don’t really feel like us as creatives and curators should box ourselves into a few word title however, I know for some people that may bring them security. I realized over the past couple of years that I am more than just one thing. In the beginning of my creative journey I was forced to diversify my skillset so that I could successfully bring my vision to life. So to answer your question, I would like to consider myself a creative entrepreneur. I own the brand known as “Thirdx a Charm” and I have used it as an outlet to push my message of resilience. I call it “affirmation wear”. The brand was founded in 2020 and this past year we just released our 11th project in collaboration with Xhibition out of Cleveland, OH. This year we are slowing down on output to gear up for the future. I really want to take my time and properly source materials, perfect the website, and just fine tune a lot of things that can take us to the next level as a brand. The other business that I would like to highlight is called “For People Like Us”. “FPLU is a brand that I created to inspire creativity, promote sustainable practices and cultivate a sense of belonging in our community. Over the years I’ve curated different networking events, small groups and workshops to help build the mission of FPLU. Overall I aim to continue to build both of these brands to push not only myself but my community and the people around me.

How did you build your audience on social media?
My audience for both of my brands has been organic growth. I have not done any paid ads for anything regarding any of my businesses. My following on all of my accounts is still significantly small and believe it or not, that is something that was also calculated over the past few years. My brand has just now gotten to a point where a constant demand from our product is there, our aesthetic is recognizable, and our mission – our aesthetic is recognizable and our mission is understood.. In this next chapter of the brand it is finally time to push not only our accounts and our drops but our products and our content. Reaching 1,000 followers, or 10,000 followers has never really been a point of focus in the past. The focus was to first figure out our purpose as a brand, figure out a formula to create good products and to establish a movement that was relatable to everyone. This next chapter however we will be focused on growing our audience and getting the brand in front of more people. Due to the increase of product that will be available and our output of content, we want to put ourselves out there. Which is why this year we are gearing up and loading up the clip to grow.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Everyday you must be resilient. That is why I believe that the mission of “Thirdx a Charm” can connect with any and everyone. There is not a day that goes by where we as people are not forced to be resilient. There is so many things going on in the world today. There is a Genocide going on in Palestine and Gaza and there is unjust things that are happening everyday to our friends and family right in our back yard and we yet still have to choose resilience. We have to affirm ourselves everyday that we are strong enough, we are wise enough, we are capable of creating a change by first changing ourselves and challenging ourselves. We have to make the vision plain and go out and bring it to life. Someone needs the ideas that are in your head to come to life because it will then change their life.
