We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Fear a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Fear, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. One of the things we most admire about small businesses is their ability to diverge from the corporate/industry standard. Is there something that you or your brand do that differs from the industry standard? We’d love to hear about it as well as any stories you might have that illustrate how or why this difference matters.

My shop stand out from the rest hands down. Our team goes above and beyond not just to offer a selection of hard to find stones and rare minerals. But we also pride ourselves on being knowledgeable in every single item we sell. We believe here at Pyrite Illusions that you should be able to go to your gemstone source as a trusted advisor in many areas. We offer more to our community then just “pretty rock” we are an information outlet, a source for hard to find items, and friends there willing and able to help you on your own journey!

Fear, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

My name is Fear. I have led a very intuned energetic life, This path has led me to have understandings of how energies work, both together and on their own, that very unique. I believe anyone willing to embrace the environment around them is capable of putting the energy of the universe to work in their favor. I also believe that finding the truth of ones self is the ultimate self evolution and I am proud that I have and will continue to help many along that journey self exploration. My fascination for gemstones and crystals goes way beyond the spiritual aspect however. As my own path played out I found the scientific knowledge behind these items to be just as fascinating. From energetic vibe, to chemical composition, to what region of the world these things have been found in… I will always seek more and more understanding of these things and continue to share that knowledge with others.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?

Here at Pyrite Illusions we take our product selection very seriously. Our founder and head stone sourcer has spend decades building repour with carvers from around the world. This lets us avoid the forced buying that comes with wholesale and allows us to offer high quality remarkable cuts of gemstones and crystals every single time. With a thirst for knowledge and the ability to acquire gemstones and rare minerals that are not commonly found on the market…. our reputation has built itself, all we have had to do is maintain our high quality standards and let the stones do the talking for us.

We’d love to hear the story of how you turned a side-hustle into a something much bigger.

Our brand was launched when our founder lost the momentum of her first small business to covid. Being a traveling vendor is hard, doing that making one of a kind hand crafted items is even harder. As the resections lifted her and her partner was able to set forth on their business again they found many had taken time during covid to “learn a new craft”. and thats wonderful, however it overflooded all open markets in the area with many different quality of similar items making it hard on ALL crafters that had done it professionally precovid. This inspired the founding team to take on a new product line and with that a new branding based off the knowledge and resources. In the beginning Pyrite Illusions was only intended to be something that was done for a few months over a single festival season to help bridge revenue for the first crafter business…. in just 14 short months the demand grew so strong it put us in a storefront offering those same gemstones and crystals that we had hoped to only utilize briefly.
