We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Faye Friedman a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Faye, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We love heartwarming stories – do you have a heartwarming story from your career to share?
My heartwarming stories: Every time I finish teaching a Yin Yoga class I have students come up to me and tell me how thankful they are for this practice and tell me how much it helps them get through the day.
I have had many students come up to me and tell me when they are having a challenging moment they think about my voice and that helps them remember to breathe deeply.
It’s extremely heart warming to know that I am helping people one student at a time.
It’s even more heartwarming to know that sometimes I inspire people without even knowing it.
I am grateful to be in a field where I am helping people and sometimes they express it but if they don’t it feels so good knowing that I am inspiring and helping people live happier lives.

Faye, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I have been in the Health & Wellness Industry for over two decades. In these last two decades I have gotten certified in many different modalities that has helped me design and create the business that I have today. Some of these modalities are: personal training, nutrition, Yoga, and meditation.
Today, I am a detox & health specialist. As such, I help women who are dealing with bloating, inflammation, chronic fatigue, thyroid conditions, skin conditions and weight gain.
I work with women who want to feel better and don’t know how to get there!
I was living with Hashimotos ( a thyroid condition) since I’m 15 and had a severe case of psoriasis on my scalp. Through research, a few liver detoxes, changes in my diet, exercise and a new way of living my life, I healed these conditions.
Doctors told me I would never get rid of my thyroid condition and that I would always be on medication.
Today I am medicine free and my blood results are clean and clear.
I healed myself and have also helped many clients heal and feel better. I know it is possible!
I now lead women through 9-day liver detoxes which helps to address many of these chronic conditions.
In addition to the 9-day liver detox I run a 3month program to empower these women to create new habits and keep the changes they have learned to make it a new part of their lifestyle.
I have learned with experience that doing just the cleanse is not enough.
The coaching part of my program is what helps women make significant changes. In these coaching sessions I address mindset, emotions, things that may be blocking a client. We talk about lifestyle and making lifestyle changes. I give my clients tools so that they can eventually be on their own.
I want to empower women to make powerful choices that they will benefit from. Too often I hear women say that they can’t achieve their goals and I believe that every women can get healthier with the right tools, the right program and an amazing coach to guide them.
It is important to me to know that when I am complete with a client they have gained the knowledge and enough tools to keep going on their own. I want my clients to be able to go out on their own and utilize this information to keep living a healthy life.
My program was created for women who have not yet attained their goals. It’s for women who aren’t feeling their best and they’ve tried everything and don’t know what else to do. It’s for women who can use support to achieve their goals.
I am very passionate about what I do. I love to empower women and I love helping women feel their best.
It is extremely satisfying to work with women and see the transformation that occurs during the three month program.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Almost ten years ago I walked away from a marriage and a life that didn’t fulfill me emotionally, spiritually, and mentally. Walking away from the only life I knew wasn’t easy at all but I also knew that if I stayed I wouldn’t grow and I would only be more unhappy.
It took courage and determination to restart and recreate myself.
I am a women that when I set my mind on something and have a goal I will do whatever it takes to get there.
The first couple of years after the divorce were challenging.
I needed to restructure my life and relearn who I am. I took these years to do some very intensive transformational work.
I always did whatever was necessary in order for me to pay my bills and have never had a moment where I didn’t have enough money for my bills.
It took a few years for me to settle into my new self.
Yoga was a big part of my transformational journey. Being part of a yoga community helped me get through some difficult times and it also helped me strengthen who I am as a person.
There were times that were very difficult as there typically are in life.
These moments have actually taught me so much about myself and have taught me to persevere.
I learned how to go through some of these challenging moments and come out better as a result.
Living on my own taught me to be resilient.
I only had myself to rely on and I did whatever it took to move beyond any limitations.
I call this being courageous and resilient!

If you could go back in time, do you think you would have chosen a different profession or specialty?
Absolutely not!
I’ve always been passionate about health and wellness and I wouldn’t want it any other way.
I started as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor which I absolutely loved. I loved teaching and inspiring others to be stronger and better.
This led me to my Yoga journey which not only changed my life but has helped me to transform others lives as well.
Throughout all of these years nutrition has always been a focal point in my life. I’ve always understood the importance of the foods that we eat.
Over the last few years I have gone deeper into my knowledge of food and have healed myself of chronic illness and am now helping other women heal them selves.
Every step in this journey has led me to the next step in my career which has led me to where I am now.
All of these years of experience have been a stepping stone to what is next and I’ve enjoyed all of the experiences that have led me to now.
So I would absolutely do it again!
