Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Fatima Hughes. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Fatima thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
Behind every business idea, product, and service lies a mission. Our commitment is to support women by fostering empowerment through strategic collaborations with manufacturers and contractors, offering products that enhance beauty, confidence, and strength. Additionally, we strive to create services that ensure women feel seen, heard, appreciated, and supported, while also providing specialized training exclusively for our consulting clients.
A women who feels beautiful, confident, and strong, and supported, is one who will then share her gifts with others.
What goes around, comes around.

Fatima, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
As a born fashion child, it only made sense that I started working in fashion at 16 years old. I worked for a large Canadian fashion brand in every position until I started my entrepreneur journey almost 10 years later, with my own stores across Canada.
A woman dedicated to my beauty routines, daily dressing, wellness, fitness, and living, I became an influence on, and inspiration to many women of all ages.
After decades of owning stores and building brands, I have launched a namesake line of luxury fragrances and restorative oils for your hair and skin which I sell online and at select retailers across Canada. This collection has been inspired from my love of scents, dedication to everything around me being beautiful, my idea that all of our senses create our experience, and my focus on good clean ingredients. I want every woman to feel beautiful every day.
The hero product in my studio is my Restorative Hair Treatment Oil, as there’s almost nothing on the market like it. I created this product because of my love of long healthy hair and a lifetime experience of trying every type of hair treatment out there. What makes this treatment so special is that unlike most that focus on growth at the scalp, Mane Restorative Hair Treatment Oil is blended with 8 natural nutrient-dense oils and designed to repair, smooth, moisturize, and strengthen the hair that you already have.
“If your hair is growing but doesn’t appear to be getting longer or looking nice, it is because of how it is treated,” I say.
Chemical dyes, heat, atmosphere, and overall poor maintenance will create breakage, fall-out, dry, dull hair. It will get wispy, break off, feel thin, look frizzy, get tangled, and so much more if you don’t care for your hair properly.
I have created a loyal following and community of women who trust my advice, love my products, and are dedicated to being the best version of themselves.
In addition to supporting women in ways to look, feel, and smell good, I also support them by coaching and consulting in personal areas of life and in business, which I find tremendously fulfilling and exciting.

We’d appreciate any insights you can share with us about selling a business.
Many entrepreneurs, including myself are artists, and don’t always have a master plan. I sold my first business after about 1.5 years as I had this grand idea to move to a different country.
Luckily for me, a lovely woman wanted what I had created with the ease and convenience that it was already done. If your goal is to start a company to eventually sell, then I would recommend form day 1 that you operate like that meaning you implement systems, and processes for everything, you keep all your books up to date and organized, and that your goal is high profit, low expenses.

How did you build your audience on social media?
My advice those building a social media presence would be not too. No I’m kidding.
Before starting a social media presence ask yourself the following:
Am I ok losing my privacy and anonymity?
Do I want to build a brand around myself?
What are my goals for my Social Media pages?
Should I outsource this?
Do I have the time to do it myself or money to invest in someone else?
To build, all I can say is, be consistent, be powerful, be real, and remember what you put on the internet, stays on the internet.
I would also add that Social Media may build brands, but it also has the power to kill brands, and we must focus on the foundation of our business operations while putting marketing efforts into other channels and not relying on media.
