We recently connected with Farnaz Reneker and have shared our conversation below.
Farnaz, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What was it like going from idea to execution? Can you share some of the backstory and some of the major steps or milestones?
Over the past two decades, in the process of executing ideas, I have grown and evolved as an individual. We are all creative beings, and in each moment, conujuring new ideas through our imagination. No human being is without this ability, however, not everyone has the fearlessness to jump into or the discipline to execute the vision. I have been on both sides of this process, over and over again. However, there have been several ideas that I have followed through as businesses, some offering more success and growth than others.
I was educated and trained as an architect, beginning my professional career in Washington D.C. then moving to Los Angeles twenty years ago. Jack of all trades, master of none, my training allowed me to explore all forms of creativity within my work. In 2008, post-recession, I began my entrepreneurial journey. Over the course of several years, I built a professional practice – one that continues today, serving commercial and residential design clients in the LA area.
Ten years ago, my husband and I opened a brick-and mortar-design store and gallery in Hermosa Beach – inspired by contemporary beach lifestyle and Scandinavian design. I learned about the business of retail in a completely new setting in comparison to a professional practice. From web design to marketing to event planning, I had to be open to all that I didn’t know, absorbing and learning from consultants and other professionals.
A few years later, I dove into my spiritual journey, exploring ancient wisdom teachings, the healing arts, and energy medicine. I pursued several trainings and began practicing vibrational healing through sound, forming yet another business venture.
In 2020, I began writing and published two books in the last two years. In that process, I was lucky enough to work with an incredibly gifted editor and explore the art of story-telling. Alongside the creative process, I learned book cover and layout design and the steps required in self-publishing and promoting of books.
The creative journey does not end, as I currently landed at the beginning of a new venture with Wellspring 88 in Redondo Beach – a community hub for personal growth and evolution. As this budding business expands, I can clearly see how the threads we create and weave together to create a masterpiece that we can reflect on later in life.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
At the moment, my priority is the expansion of my latest venture, as co-founder of Wellspring 88. The first component of the venture is a community hub for personal growth and spiritual evolution – offering ongoing group classes and special events through experience and exploration of topics related to holistic wellness. The second component of the venture is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) with a mission to provide equitable access to alternative and holistic wellness educational programs and practitioners for all who seek it.
As I embarked on my healing journey, I longed for a place to explore various modalities and gather with like-minded individuals and a community. Our souls seek deep, authentic connection and community – alongside joy, play, introspection, and healing. Without access to such a place, I traveled to find master facilitators, practitioners, and teachers.
A community hub deepens and catalyzes the connections forged in heart-centered practices. Personal healing and awakening leads to collective healing and awakening. We heal ourselves, and in turn, our wholeness ripples out infinitely.

Have you ever had to pivot?
I have pivoted multiple times in my adult life.
We sometimes find ourselves swimming upstream and eventually realize that this path requires too much energy and sacrifice to fulfill us on a deeper level. Listening to our intuition in these moments can be challenging, as our ego judges choices and brings our deepest fears to the surface.
The toughest lesson for me to learn has been the lesson of surrendering – actually allowing myself to flow down the stream of life, rather than swimming against it. I have learned through the practice of surrender that there is a powerful and universal force behind all of us when we are living in alignment with our higher self, soul, or that deep knowing within us.
Pivots allow the flow of life, so that we don’t get stuck in places or experiences where we don’t belong, or have outgrown.

How’d you meet your business partner?
I met my co-founder, Dr. Kelly Waggoner, in December of 2019 when she scheduled a sound therapy session with me. A few months later, at the height of the pandemic and shut-downs, she reached out to schedule a session for a friend processing grief. When we reconnected, we felt that kind of soul-family connection that does not make cognitive sense but the heart feels. We became friends and in time learned that we shared a vision on a holistic wellness approach and community gathering place. Earlier this past year, we began planting the seeds for Wellspring 88 Nonprofit and Wellspring 88 Centers. In July of 2023 we opened our doors and are witnessing the weaving of a beautiful community web daily.
