Hi Farmer Dave, thanks for joining us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?

Life is always changing…. and meaning changes with it…. it’s important to stay fluid and remember that every moment is a new opportunity. We’re hurtling through space on a planet, yet often act like we will be here forever, that nothing can change. This is an illusion! Search your heart for what lights the pilot and go there… each project will thus be imbued with deeper meaning, and joy. It’s worked for me!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

I’ve been a professional musician since 1995. I was a radio DJ at KXLU 88.9 Westchester, CA. I’ve played with many artists, including Beachwood Sparks, Kurt Vile, Elvis Costello, Animal Collective, Jenny Lewis, Interpol… and my beloved band “Farmer Dave & the Wizards of the West”. I’ve worked with indie rock labels, major labels, film productions, d.i.y. underground artsts, and beyond. Branding involves being present for the data.. understanding the goal and moving towards it with ease, grace, and confidence. Remembering our potential is limitless, and we can expand our horizons constantly. These days, world peace is more important than ever. We can shout that out in our work, with our brand presence, and by being good community members in our neighborhood, city, state, country, and beyond.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?

These days, I look for full artistic expression as well as artistic engagement from fans. My spiritual development has been an ever-increasing priority in my life. It began as something more private and has increasingly taken the front stage of my work, creativity, diet, health, and relationship goals. I consider my mission connecting to Spirit and helping others do the same. I’ve gone back to school and got a graduate degree in clinical psychology. I’ve also learned to practice sound and energy healing and am also studying qi gong. These all feed back into the band and our creative goals. I see each person holding the light for the rest of humanity to share, and changing the world one heart at a time. Since I’ve made this priority, my heart has skyrocketed. I hope to build my audience and community to match my goals, priorities, and missions.

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?

National funding for the arts would be great. I also urge the readers to support local music and art. Attend concerts, buy merch and art pieces, enroll in art programs for yourselves and children, parents. And spread the word to family, friends, colleagues, about the value of art and music in our society. It comes down to every person!
