We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Fara Gindin-Wilson. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Fara below.
Fara, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
Hard work and determination are the low-hanging fruits of answers, but I’m more than glad to reiterate their absolute necessity.
Ultimately, success, to me, means feeling fulfilled at the end of the day. It’s accomplishing at least 7 out of the 10 tasks on my daily list and carrying the remainder over to the next day without feeling discouraged. Keeping hope alive is critical – a discouraged influencer influence no one.
Success also involves intermittent fasting and managing to fit in a daily workout. It’s about staying in the game even when the odds seem stacked against you. Success is also when my children are aware of the work I do and express their pride in me.
And, perhaps in a moment of vanity, success is when you walk into a local store, and someone stops you to say, “It’s you! I saw you and your family in a Whataburger commercial on TikTok!”
Awesome – I never get tired of it!
Fara, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m a social media influencer and content creator; my primary focus is women. I share elegant and achievable home decor ideas, easy DIY projects, and helpful home hacks.
I’ve been fortunate to work with some amazing brand partners including Kroger, Walmart, Walgreens, PayPal, Disney, Amazon, Nexium, Pure Zzzs, and so many more.
Additionally, I share with my audience a glimpse into my life as a real-life mom, and how I balance family, life, and mompreneurship.
Speaking of mompreneurship, utilizing my former career as Vice President of Marketing and Communications – as well as my skills as a graphic designer – for a large commercial real estate firm, I am also a business coach and social media strategist.
I guide women to successfully build their personal brand, monetize their online presence, and transform it into a fulfilling career. I take great pride in having assisted more than 200 women on this journey so far – and I’m excited to help more!
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
About 20 years ago, somewhat reluctantly, I took on a job at a commercial real estate company named IDI. Little did I imagine it would become the cornerstone of my career.
Initially, my primary responsibilities revolved around administrative tasks in accounting and property management. The work was satisfactory, but it failed to satisfy my creative bent. Opportunity knocked and I found myself rebranding and designing covers for Lease Abstract reports and Monthly Owners reports, I realized it was time for a change.
Fortunately, in the same company, there was a fledgling marketing department. With the support of the CEO, I made the transition. It was a significant shift, presenting a whole new set of challenges. I had to learn to collaborate effectively with a new boss who would eventually become my strongest advocate and teach me so much. Molly was exceptional in that regard and would expand my young mind’s horizons to what was possible while keenly my focus on that ever-so-important attention to detail.
Have you ever had to pivot?
The journey into becoming an successful self-sufficient entrepreneur wasn’t always smooth, but even in my youth, it taught me the kind of person I didn’t want to become. I returned to school to pursue a degree in Business Communications at Oglethorpe University, along with undertaking various graphic design certificates and related marketing courses. In essence, I was gearing up for a robust career in Marketing. When the timing felt right, I took a bold step into the role of Vice President of Marketing and Communications at another large successful commercial real estate firm in Atlanta.
This new chapter presented a fresh set of challenges: establishing an entire department from scratch and orchestrating a complete rebranding of the company, both internally and externally. I was undaunted and determined, and jumped into the task with both feet! Looking back, I take pride in accomplishing precisely what I had set out to do, and I can confidently say that I succeeded. The rebranding helped the company flourish even more as a result.
During this period, another spark ignited within me—the entrepreneurial spirit. I began crafting an online presence for myself, making an impact through my social presence on Instagram. This platform allowed me to unveil yet another facet of myself that had long been dormant: my passion for home decor.
Once again relying on my inner strength, and a willingness to sail into the unknown, I left the safety net of Corporate America to become my own boss, navigating uncharted waters with determination and enthusiasm.
I am proud to say that today I am a successful social media influencer and content creator, as well as a business coach and social media strategist for rising social media influencers! It is in my DNA to help other women succeed as I have…
