Fantasia, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Alright – so having the idea is one thing, but going from idea to execution is where countless people drop the ball. Can you talk to us about your journey from idea to execution?

Writing has always been a passion of mine, and I knew one day that I wanted to tell my story through writing. However, I didn’t know if the vision that I had would actually come to fruition! And 2017 I started submitting my poetry to publishing companies all over the United States. At this point, it was still just a dream but I knew that I needed to put in the work to see this actually come to fruition! In April of 2018 I received the phone call from a Publishing Company that stated they wanted to publish my work. I spoke with the agent I received the documentation for publishment and I was beyond excited. In May of that year I lost someone very very dear to me and I didn’t see a way to continue in my writing. Needless to say, I did everything possible to avoid my agent and not have contact with them at all. I ended up losing the contract and going into the state of depression. In 2019 I reconnected with an old friend and I told them what my dream was. Unbeknownst to me they were a published author and had successfully published over 10 books and help others publish books. I gave them my draft and they went to work with the editing. And their words, “there was nothing for them to do”. Because they believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself they work on getting my book published. In September of 2020 I released my very first poetry book entitled chapter 33 piece by piece not only that but, in January of 2021 I released my second book entitled regaining Focus during a global pandemic! Though the journey to get to this point wasn’t easy; it was well worth it! Everyday since the beginning of this journey, I’m finding different things out about myself that I never realized before. One of the main things that I’ve realized; since the beginning of this journey is, regardless of where you are in life! And where you think you should be, as long as you get up every day and continue to put one foot in front of the other, there is nothing impossible and with God everything is possible!

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers

I’m a writer! Best as simple as it’ll ever get, I love helping people and I enjoy being able to express my life and my journey through my writing. I write to inspire, encourage, uplift, and be a voice to those who are voiceless! I take pride in my passion and I know that the gift that God has placed inside of me will help others. Again, I’m a writer and I’m sensitive about my craft!

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?

My mission and or goal is to reach as many people as possible through my writing. I want to be the inspiration that I know so many people need. My life hasn’t always been easy and through my writing I tell my life story. A lot of what I’ve gone through many others have gone through as well. And even though we may have sometimes experienced the same trauma, defeat, hurt/pain, and disappointment the journeys are different. I’m here to be a voice for those who are voiceless! I’m here to make a change and the change needed to start with me!

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?

The resilience in my journey! That makes you think, but not too hard! Life has a way of throwing you many curve balls and obstacles and sometimes some days are harder than others. However, the willpower to keep going no matter how discouraged I become, and no matter what other people may say is what makes me who I am! Again, this journey hasn’t been easy but it’s very much worth it. And regardless of what I’m faced with I’ll always keep going and Rising above it all
