Fanny, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Fanny Grande is a Venezuelan-American filmmaker, actor, and director of considerable and CEO of Avenida Entertainment Group, boasting an impressive portfolio spanning over two decades in the entertainment industry.
Seven years ago, Grande, in collaboration with her husband Nelson Grande, co-founded Avenida Productions, a production firm singularly focused on championing independent media content creators and emphasizing diversity. Under their stewardship, Avenida has grown into a formidable entity, launching a groundbreaking crowdfunding platform for creatives, Support Our Story in March 2022, as well as establishing a state-of-the-art production facility in the heart of Los Angeles.
Fanny Grande’s remarkable journey is characterized by an unwavering dedication to her craft, a passion for diversity, and a profound understanding of the entertainment landscape. Her work continues to resonate on various levels, reflecting a legacy that extends beyond the screen, impacting the industry and audiences alike.

In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
The past 20 years there has been very slow movement in the entertainment industry in regards to proper representation for Latinos in front and behind the camera. And very often all we see on film and tv are negative stereotypes.
As Latinos, we are 20% of the U.S population, we have an incredible buying power, we purchase 1 in 4 movie tickets in the U.S, and yet we are practically invisible in Hollywood.
We have waited long enough for the industry to notice us. Which is why we at Avenida are paving our own way to amplifying Latino voices. We are creating ways for our community to fund, produce, and distribute our own content; for Latinos, by Latinos. Our streamer A+ will be launching this year and we can’t wait to share how talented our community really is.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
The mission has always been the same for me. To create positive Latino representation in the entertainment industry. So often we are portrayed as these two dimensional stereotypes and we are so much more than that. We are Doctors, we are lawyers, we can be anything and I believe it is so important to be able to see that on screen.
