We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Falyn Marie a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Falyn , appreciate you joining us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
The vision of my business all started from my passion for shoes. I always wanted my headwear to match my shoes. So I started selling headbands and headwraps in 2018. From then I have gradually started adding more accessories such as: bonnets and durags for children and adults, sunglasses, lacebands and much more.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Falyn. I am a 21 year old entrepreneur. I started by business when I was 17 and since then I have learned so much. My passion for shoes is what got me into the accessory industry.
My brand is called headwearbyfal and we sell fashionable headwear for everyone to wear. Not only are they fashionable but they also have a good benefit. Our double layered bonnets will stay on all night and it also helps with hair growth. Our headbands and lacebands can be adjusted to your comfort.
Our products can be worn indoor and outdoor. We want our customers to be able to be comfortable if they are going to sleep or going outside. What sets me apart from everyone is that i let the customers pitch in their ideas & i do everything based off the ideas that they come up with. I really use my customers feedback with a lot of things i do as far as what we sell and the color way we would use.
The thing i’m most proud of with my business is that during all the hard times within these last few years I never gave up on my business. I’m working on expanding every chance i get. Headwearbyfal is one of many businesses i plan to have
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
How i built my social media audience os going business groups all around the world & get dropping my business information. When im out doing things around a big crowd I always make sure to airdrop my business info to everyone. I really just promote my business anywhere I go. If I see someone wearing something I sell I tell them about to products.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The most effective way it to just always promote your business. You never know what does you could be opening. Go out and participate in networking events. Take business classes. You always wanna learn new things. Set daily, weekly, and monthly goals for yourself. Always stay motivated & never give up.
