We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Fallon and Sky a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Fallon and Sky, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
The mission behind In Ceremony Productions is to create bold, meaningful, and unforgettable storytelling that celebrates diverse voices—especially those of women—while building and uplifting the Louisiana film industry. We are committed to producing high-quality films with emotional depth, visual impact, and cultural relevance. Through intentional collaboration, local hiring, and powerful narratives, we aim to elevate Southern story tellers to global audiences and grow a sustainable creative economy in our home state and beyond.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
We’re Fallon Goodson and Sky Lopez, co-founders of In Ceremony Productions. After spending over a decade working in Los Angeles—Sky acting and writing, and Fallon producing and acting under her own banner Dot, Dot, Dot Productions—we came together with a shared vision: to build a production company rooted in what it truly means to understand how to be creatives and business women with integrity simultaneously. When we met on the set of Dear Annabelle—a short film Sky wrote, directed and acted in and Fallon came on to produce—we instantly clicked. That film went on to be officially selected at the Paris International Short Festival, the Berlin Shorts Festival, and the New York International Women Festival. Our collaboration felt like kismet, and it laid the foundation for what would become In Ceremony Productions.
Since founding our company we have produced two short films, are developing a television pilot, completed two entrepreneur business programs with Tulane and The Idea Village, as well as we are in pre production stages on two feature length films. Our second short film together, Ruby, went on to be selected by Oscar-qualifying festivals like HollyShorts and the New Orleans Film Festival.
We offer full-service narrative and tv film production for both short and feature-length projects, alongside creative development and story consulting to help bring scripts and ideas to life. Our team also specializes in local crew hiring and talent casting, with a strong commitment to working with Louisiana-based professionals while utilizing the tax incentives Louisiana offers. . Additionally, we provide project development support to assist filmmakers in securing independent financing and attracting investors.
Our goal is to be fully hands on in producing 2–3 projects a year with budgets ranging, but not limited to, $1–3 million, and to become a pipeline for compelling, commercially viable, and emotionally resonant content.
We know that for so many creatives, there’s a gap between having a great story and getting it made. We aim to bridge that gap by bringing together talented filmmakers, experienced producers, and a network of investors, sales agents, and collaborators who believe in what we do. We also recognize that the Louisiana film industry—while growing—has often been underutilized beyond tax incentives. We’re here to change that by committing to hiring locally, telling stories that honor our culture, and proving that Louisiana is a powerful hub for world-class filmmaking.
At In Ceremony Productions, we lead with intention. The name In Ceremony reflects our core belief that storytelling is sacred—a powerful force that can heal, disrupt, awaken, and unite. While we’re proudly rooted in the South, our stories are expansive in scope and global in their emotional resonance. We value creative integrity just as much as commercial viability, always striving to strike that balance. As a women-led company in an industry still working toward true equity and representation, we’re committed to pushing boundaries. We’re scrappy, resourceful, and unafraid to bet on our vision.
We’re proud of launching our company independently and gaining early festival recognition with our films. We’re proud of our next feature film, a psychological horror titled Cicada, which is currently seeking financing, and the original series Vampish, which is soon going to be pitched to networks and buyers, and we are also proud of our first fully funded project we have just started development on. For now we have to keep the details under wraps but expect an announcement in 2025! We’re proud of the momentum we’ve built from the ground up, without waiting for permission.
We’re also proud to produce the Off Script Podcast, where we go behind the scenes with creatives, disruptors, and visionaries to explore the real stories behind the stories with an emphasis on the Southeast entertainment market.. It’s another way we’re building community, sharing knowledge, and uplifting voices both in and beyond the film industry.
We are not here to follow trends. We’re here to make timeless work that resonates deeply and disrupts the status quo. Whether you’re a fan of elevated horror, Southern gothic, intimate drama, comedies, or wild genre mashups—we want to take you on a ride. Our projects have guts, soul, and style.
And for our investors, collaborators, and partners: we understand both the art and the business. We’re building a slate. We have a plan. And we’re in this for the long haul.

Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
We met the way a lot of great creative partnerships in the industry begin—on set. Sky had written and was preparing to direct and star in a short film called Dear Annabelle, and Fallon came on board as a producer. From day one, it was clear we shared the same vision, work ethic, and commitment to telling emotionally grounded stories that center women. The collaboration felt easy and electric. We trusted each other creatively and instinctively understood each other’s strengths.
During that project, we spent long days working side by side, problem-solving, laughing, and dreaming bigger than the short film itself. It became clear pretty quickly that Dear Annabelle was just the beginning. We realized we had complementary skills—Fallon with her deep experience in performance and producing, and Sky with her storytelling instincts and ability to build worlds from scratch. So, we decided to stop waiting for permission and build something of our own. That’s how In Ceremony Productions was born.
Now, we’re not just creative partners—we’re real-life friends who believe in the power of storytelling, the importance of local community, and the magic that happens when women lead.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
In the film industry, pivoting isn’t just a one-time thing—it’s a way of life. Since launching In Ceremony Productions, we’ve learned that staying afloat as an independent production company means constantly evolving, problem-solving, and thinking creatively—not just about our stories, but about our business model. We’ve explored every possible avenue to generate income and sustain momentum, from producing short-form content and consulting on other projects, to launching a podcast and diving deep into development strategy.
That’s why we’ve completed two entrepreneur programs—to better understand how to build a business that’s as resilient as it is visionary. We’ve learned how to speak to investors, how to structure our slate, how to position our IP for long-term value. And we’ve had to pivot more times than we can count—sometimes shifting our focus from one project to another based on market timing or team availability, sometimes reworking our long-term vision altogether.
It’s not always easy, but it’s made us sharper, more agile, and more connected to the why behind what we do. For us, pivoting isn’t a sign of struggle—it’s a sign of strength. It means we’re in it for the long haul, ready to adapt, grow, and keep finding new ways to make meaningful work and build a sustainable creative company.
