We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Faiz Aly a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Faiz, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear your thoughts about making remote work effective.
I absolutely love the concept of remote work. Especially in the world of digital marketing. As long as you have your phone and your computer with you, you can get your work done from anywhere in the world. I have the unique luxury of hiring talents from across the country–and even around the world. My goal is to build Aly+ based on talent and culture-fit instead of location. The main objective is and always will be to get the work done with the highest quality and client in mind. With virtual meetings and emails, calls, Slack and Teams, everything gets efficiently done.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Aly+ is a result-driven agency designed to accelerate growth through digital marketing strategies, creative design and superior execution. From concept to implementation, we work with our clients every step of the way to provide a complete solution fully tailored to their specifications.
Good branding is good business. For an example, a logo should be able to tell the client’s story at a glance, and we’ll help them create a fantastic one. After all, brand is your identity. A “brand” lies somewhere between who you say you are and who your audiences say you are—which means it’s everything.
However, creating and maintaining the brand image is very crucial. That’s why Aly+ offers great services from branding strategy to graphic design to social media marketing to content creation. It’s all the essentials for sustaining a top-notch brand identity.
Later this fall, we will even start implanting website development services. Nothing makes me happier than to see my clients happy with the work we do. We have worked with various different clients in various different industries from automotive, hospitality, mortgage, etc.
Aly+ will start their own YouTube channel in fall as well to create content on teach digital marketing, tips and tricks, and strategy.
Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
I treat my marketing agency, Aly+, a lot like a tech startup. In fact, that’s how I see it. There are so many great books one can read but there are two books I absolutely recommend. I love the Steve Jobs biography by Walter Isaacson and Elon Musk by Ashlee Vance. Both books are about great businessmen, how they innovated and completely changed their respective industries. Both books go into leadership, overcoming challenges, innovation and both failure and success. They’ve taught me a lot.
How did you build your audience on social media?
For clients, I spend a lot of time on strategy and content for social media. When it comes to my personal social media, I don’t do any of that. I just like to have fun and post what I feel is me. So you’ll see a lot of lifestyle, travel and tech. My advice to those starting their own social media (for personal) is to highlight what you like and what you like posting. At the end of the day, you have to stay consistent and when you post things you really enjoy posting about, you’ll post more. Now, from a business perspective, don’t always directly sell your product or service. Post more about company culture, what your company stands for, and the difference your product/service makes.
