We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Faith Vance. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Faith below.
Faith, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today One of the things we most admire about small businesses is their ability to diverge from the corporate/industry standard. Is there something that you or your brand do that differs from the industry standard? We’d love to hear about it as well as any stories you might have that illustrate how or why this difference matters.
I believe that every home should show to its absolute best capability. So whether someone lives in the home, or the home is vacant, I provide staging services at no additional charge as part of my listing package. I have a large inventory of staging items, and most of my homes, I stage myself, but for luxury homes, or larger homes, I will also contract out.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I started in the industry in 2009, when the market was very different-when people were getting out of the industry . I started as a short sale assistant, that would help with the short sale process for listings. The market was slow, and contracts were almost all short-sale, distressed, or bank-owned. It taught me how to communicate, and I learned the process of a transaction. After that, we moved to a more normal market, and we developed our relationship-first base for how we do business. I truly count so many of my clients as friends, and I think that we treat every contract as such. I want to enjoy the process, and I love my clients, which in turn makes me continue to love what I do.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
The best source for new clients, has and always will be- past clients. Our whole business is built on referrals. We love working with clients over-and-over, as repeat clientele, but the best compliment is a referral.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
In this industry, your name is literally everything. Your reputation can make or break your career. I’ve never been willing to operate in the “grey area”. Ethics is a black and white situation every time, and I’m not willing to put my standards aside for one deal to happen. This applies to how I treat my clients, as well as other agents in the business. People get caught up in the drama of the industry, but it’s always important to remember, that you never know when you’ll have to deal with an agent again, on another home, with another client. Business is business, and I put my clients first. Every time.
