We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Faith Sycaoyao. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Faith below.
Faith, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
The most meaningful project I’ve worked on blends my passion for various causes with my love for art, pushing my imagination, critical thinking, and self-driven brainstorming. I’ve focused on child-focused initiatives, poverty alleviation, and sustainability. One impactful project is creating research and graphics for Climate Cardinals, an organization dedicated to making climate information accessible worldwide, especially in non-English speaking regions.
This project is particularly meaningful to me because of my past lived experiences. During my time in the Philippines as a little girl and my annual summer vacations there, I witnessed firsthand the devastating effects of flooding on underprivileged community homes, food security, child education, transportation, and overall well-being. I experienced this personally with my grandmother’s home, close relatives, and their neighbors. I also saw the severe plastic pollution in areas like Bulacan, Laguna, Cavite, and Manila, particularly in the Tondo.
Tondo, with its vast slum, is one of the most eye-opening parts of Manila. High poverty rates, scarce decent jobs, and inaccessible healthcare and education define daily life there. Seeing children endure such harsh conditions deeply moved me, and I hope those more fortunate can step in to help.
Despite being far from one of my hometowns now, serving as one of the Deputy Directors of Climate Cardinals, the world’s largest climate youth nonprofit, allows me to contribute to solutions and advance the movement against climate change along with 14,000 volunteers in 80+ countries, addressing these severe global issues.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m an internationally-published visual artist and social leader passionate about using art to advocate for important causes like child welfare, poverty alleviation, and sustainability. I have worked with people and made contributions across 10+ countries. My journey began with a desire to make a positive global impact, leading me to be part of Climate Cardinals, where I contribute research and graphics to make climate information accessible worldwide. I believe in the power of creativity to drive change and am humbled by the opportunity to be part of such meaningful initiatives. Meanwhile, my other project as an artist span North America and Europe, aiming to inspire others to take action for a better world whilst following their passion.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My creative journey is driven by a deep-rooted desire to make a positive impact on the world. Whether it’s through visual storytelling, contributing to business enterprises, or nonprofits, my goal is to raise awareness, inspire change, and contribute to a better future for all. I aim to contribute my gifts to the world whenever I have the capacity to, without limits, and likewise, see what the best version of myself will be.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
For me, the most rewarding aspect of being an artist or creative lies in the ability to breathe life into new ideas and stories, creating connections that transcend words. Most importantly, it’s seeing how one’s work is able to provide solutions, comfort, or support to those who need it most in this world.
