We recently connected with Faith Nugent and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Faith thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
I am trying to change the way people think and feel about getting professional photos done. Too often my clients have told me horror stories about past sessions they have done and how awful they were. From a rude and pushy photographer to outrageous pricing, I have heard it all and I want to be completely different. I try to make my clients, especially the kiddos, very comfortable and provide a fun and relaxed environment. Having professional photos taken does not need to be painful, or cost an arm and a leg.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I first became interested in photography with a polaroid camera when I was a child. From there my passion just kept growing until my dad gifted me my very first digital camera. From there, I have been putting my foot in the door in the world of photography. I specialize in milk bath and newborn photography but my motto is “You Dream It, I Capture It” so I dabble in all fields. From preschool photography to weddings, senior pics, boudoir sessions and so much more, I won’t say no to any idea! I striver to provide a fun, relaxed environment for all my sessions. I always provide drinks and snacks and work hard to keep my prices as low as possible.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
My favorite, most rewarding part of being a photographer is the reactions I get from my clients. Being able to give people beautiful images, freezing moments in time for them, is so fulfilling. I also feel so amazing when someone comes to me and tells me how they were insecure about getting their photos done but I made them feel so comfortable and beautiful.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I struggle very hard with my own confidence. I constantly criticize my work and compare myself to other photographers. I have almost thrown in the towel so many times. Honestly, I thought about it again just last week. In a world full of competing photographers, it can be very difficult to see the beauty in your own work. But you have to keep going. Keep trying to improve, push yourself to new heights, never give up on your dreams. This is the life I have been dreaming about since I was a child so I keep going. Everyday I wake up thinking of new ways to improve my photos, customer service and the overall session experience.
