We were lucky to catch up with Faith Miniard recently and have shared our conversation below.
Faith, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s go back in time to when you were an intern or apprentice – what’s an interesting story you can share from that stage of your career?
One of the most impactful moments during my time as an intern came during the Southern Heritage Classic, a game with huge significance for Tennessee State University. As a creative content intern, I was responsible for capturing big moments for the department, team, and players. The pressure was intense, and as this was my first major event of this scale, I found myself overwhelmed with anxiety. I got in my own head, which affected the quality of my work in ways I wasn’t proud of.
Thankfully, two of my mentors, Ethan Hunt and Luke Dixon, noticed what I was going through. They pulled me aside and encouraged me to take a breather. They reminded me that as creatives, we’ll all have those days when things don’t go as planned, and that doesn’t define our talent or worth. Hearing this from two seasoned professionals I look up to was exactly what I needed in that moment. Their advice followed me to every game after that, reminding me to approach challenges with grace and to trust in my ability to adapt and grow.
That experience taught me not only how to handle high-pressure situations but also the value of having a support system and learning from those who’ve walked the path before you. It’s a lesson that’s shaped my leadership style and my approach to every project since.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Faith Miniard, and I’m a creative professional, photographer, and rising senior at Tennessee State University. My journey into the photography industry began with a deep-rooted passion for storytelling and a desire to capture life’s most authentic moments. I officially started my brand, Filmed Faithfully, during my sophomore year of college, and since then, I’ve been committed to producing high-quality, meaningful work that speaks to the heart.
At Filmed Faithfully, I provide professional photography services for a variety of occasions—whether it’s portraits, events, or creative content. My goal is to not only meet my clients’ needs but to exceed their expectations by delivering images that tell a story and leave a lasting impact. My work goes beyond just taking pictures; I aim to capture the essence of people and moments, providing clients with memories they can cherish forever.
One of the things that sets me apart is my open-minded and lighthearted approach. I believe that creativity is a journey, and I’m constantly learning and growing in my craft. Whether it’s experimenting with new techniques, collaborating with clients on fresh ideas, or simply finding inspiration in everyday life, I’m always eager to explore new possibilities.
What I’m most proud of is the journey itself—working hard over the past several years to stay focused on my dreams, even when the odds were stacked against me. Coming from a neighborhood where it would have been easy to take the wrong path, I chose to stay disciplined and let my creativity pave the way for a brighter future. That resilience, combined with the support of mentors, friends, and family, has shaped me into the professional I am today.
I want potential clients and followers to know that Filmed Faithfully is more than just a brand; it’s a reflection of my passion, my humanitarian spirit, and my belief that hard work paired with faith can turn dreams into reality. Every image I create is rooted in the idea that there’s beauty in authenticity, and I’m here to help my clients see that beauty within themselves. I also want to remind everyone that creativity is within all of us—you just have to discover it!

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele has been the power of networking through social media and word of mouth. Social media has allowed me to showcase my work to a broader audience, and it’s incredible how one post or tag can connect me with new clients.
But what truly makes a difference is when my clients recommend my services to others or credit me for my work. It means the world to me when they share their positive experiences because it not only helps grow my business but also reassures me that my work is making an impact. Every referral and shoutout goes a long way, and it genuinely makes my heart smile to know they trust and value my craft enough to pass my name along. That kind of support is priceless!

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist and creative is seeing my work reach heights I never could have imagined. As an intern with the Tennessee State University football team, I’ve had the incredible experience of seeing my work featured on platforms like the official OVC conference page and The Tennessean. Moments like logging onto social media or browsing online and discovering my work in those spaces remind me of how far I’ve come.
When I first started my craft, I used to dream about seeing my work on major platforms, billboards, and websites. To now witness those dreams becoming a reality is indescribable. Watching my work grow, develop, and receive that level of recognition motivates me to keep pushing forward. It’s a constant reminder of why I started and why I’m so passionate about what I do.
