Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Faith J Harris. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Faith J, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Going back to the beginning – how did you come up with the idea in the first place?
This business was birthed out of my passion for helping others to thrive in purpose. I started sketching at the age of 7. From that point my love for capturing images grew. I also started learning to code at the age of 10. As I got older, I became intrigued by understanding behavior & helping others grow beyond their places of trauma.
I spent my free time learning photography techniques while receiving my undergrad in psychology. I grew up in an era where I witnessed a lot of individuals struggling with mental health. I also dealt with the setbacks of childhood trauma and pain myself. My goal is to give others a different perspective on life. I worked in the medical field for over ten years. I experienced the ins and outs of treatment for many disorders & issues. I took off two years in between my bachelor’s and master’s in Pastoral counseling. This allowed me to gain understanding of the path of counseling outside of general western standards.
During this time, I focused solely on allowing God to develop me & direct me in entrepreneurship. My heart could never let go of my first love which is art. While writing a wellness blog God gave me the idea for my business today. I knew I could succeed when God gave me the ok to move forward.
My Brand focuses on providing Faith based services in both areas of mental health & media. From a mental help perspective, I provide Counseling & coaching for moving beyond trauma, while learning & developing skills centered on healthy emotional habits. For media I offer web design/ development & Photography. My media services are for entrepreneurs who are looking for creative ways to drive traffic to their brand & showcase authentic personas.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?
I came into counseling and media by my passion to create and empower. I have always been immersed in art. I have been doing illustrations since a child. I was met with a lot of discouragement growing up due to the perception in the lack of income art provides. This caused me to explore my options in something else I loved. Working through my trauma I began to allow God to lead me in which direction to take for my education. In this journey, I discovered new counseling avenues outside of general arenas. In rediscovering myself I started to get back to what I loved doing while canceling out the naysayers.
What sets me apart from other brands is my expertise & experience. I not only have the talent for the services I provide, but I have the experience. In counseling & coaching, I focus on the needs of my clients. While providing support for their everyday hiccups & past traumas. I do more than just say I’m providing a safe space. I create an environment that’s conducive to the growth of my client no matter what level. I also reassure them by giving them practical skills to apply through the process. I believe in total rehabilitation, not just discussions about moving forward without application.
For my media clients I ensure authenticity. I don’t believe in a one size fits all package. I meet my clients where they are. I believe in more than the gimmicks of social media but utilizing it as a tool to grow a platform that’s true to my client’s persona and business. I work alongside my client through the entire process whether it’s a photoshoot or complete brand development.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
What has helped me build a reputation in my market is connection. Customer service is more than just a skill. Customer service will make or break your brand. Bridging a firm connection with each client is important to building the gap between you as the service provider and the issue you’re solving for the client.
Many of the clients I have acquired have been by word of mouth. The way you treat people whether they book with your business speaks volumes about the foundation of your business and the characteristics you display in your customer success. One of the most important assets in my business is providing understanding for not just my clients who book, but potential clients who may just be interested in learning more.
Many individuals will watch your social media and focus on who you are before they decide on your services.

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative?
I think there will always be those who don’t understand. Many times, their lack of knowledge of what you are called to do is a reflection of their understanding of their purpose. I don’t take offense to those who don’t understand or who may have ill words to say. I use those moments as conversation starters to gain perception into what they believe creativity or purpose to be.
I think everyone is creative in their way. Creativity isn’t just drawing or taking pictures. The picture of what art is has been painted as one thing and it’s not. There are many avenues to being creative. Each person must find the area they’re called to be creative in whether it’s in a 9-5 or even entrepreneurship.
By killing comparison and not generalizing your talents you can access a lot of creative skills you may not have known you had. A lot of businesses are birthed out of things we do every day. Things and skills we can use to serve others. Sometimes we overlook those things when we don’t fit within the societal norms of what creativity is perceived to be.
