We recently connected with Faith Cullison and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Faith thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What was it like going from idea to execution? Can you share some of the backstory and some of the major steps or milestones?
So, I had this idea — this romanticized vision of becoming a ‘Solo Aesthetician.’ I didn’t have a business plan or all the answers, just a strong feeling that this was what I was meant to do. The day I got my license in the mail after passing my state exams, everything started to feel real. But instead of feeling ready, I felt curious — curious about all that I didn’t know yet. That curiosity became the fuel for everything that came next.
I dove headfirst into learning. Not just about skin, but about people, products, technique, and the business itself. I signed up for certifications with product lines like Obagi and Dermalogica. I joined Facebook groups for beginner solo aestheticians, took holistic skincare courses during breaks between shifts at my two jobs, and soaked up everything I could find. One of those jobs was at a well-known spa chain — and it was there, through hands-on experience and mentorship, that I began to feel something shift. My knowledge was growing, but so was my confidence. I started to realize: I could actually do this.
Then life threw a curveball. I was living in Phoenix, just getting my footing, when things took an unexpected turn and I had to move to Prescott. It felt like a step backward — like I was being pulled away from the path I’d started carving out. But that feeling — the vision of creating something of my own — never went away. Every day, even when I didn’t know what the next step was, I kept taking action. Small steps. Researching local licensing, gathering equipment bit by bit, sketching out service menus, and slowly building what would eventually become R&R Aesthetics.
I didn’t have a map. What I had was a combination of curiosity, consistency, and a deep trust that if I kept showing up, something meaningful would come of it. And that’s how it happened. It wasn’t one big moment — it was dozens of little ones that added up over time. That’s how the dream went from an idea to a reality.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I worked quite a few jobs before discovering my passion for aesthetics and to be very real, I absolutely detested working for others. I also knew I didn’t want to work over anyone either. I’ve always wanted to work with people. I’ve been fortunate in my life to find sanctuaries within both people and places that helped me grow into a better version of myself. That experience is exactly what I aim to offer in my work: a sanctuary that encourages self-betterment through skincare. I actually got my start as a makeup artist, specializing in FX and picking up bridal gigs on the side. Eventually, I toured a cosmetology school with plans to expand into both hair and makeup. But shortly after enrolling, I developed a deep curiosity about skincare. At first, I thought I’d continue down the makeup path, just with a better understanding of the canvas. But that curiosity quickly turned into passion, and I found myself on a new path entirely.
Continuing education has always been a core value for me, I never want to stop learning, growing, or expanding my awareness. From the moment I shifted focus in school, skincare felt like an open-handed calling. Even before I understood what “holistic” truly meant, it naturally showed up in my approach. I started to explore what it means to support the skin as part of a whole-body relationship—recognizing that the skin is often a reflection of what’s happening within. That perspective has never stopped evolving, and it continues to inspire the way I show up in the treatment room today.
When I moved to Prescott at the end of 2019, I never expected to find a studio space, let alone build a full client base and leave my part-time “safety net” job within just four months. And then 2020 arrived—bringing uncertainty that shook my confidence in whether my young business could survive. But the support I received from my clients was nothing short of extraordinary. I had no idea how special this community would be, or how many incredible humans I’d have the privilege of working with. R&R Aesthetics wouldn’t be here—I wouldn’t be who I am—without this amazing clientele.
What I’m most proud of? The space I’ve created. R&R Aesthetics is built on trust, education, and real connection. I’ve had the privilege of working with some of the kindest, most committed clients, many of whom have been with me since the beginning—and being part of their skincare journey is something I never take for granted. In this studio, I proudly use Lira Clinical, a results-driven skincare line grounded in science and nature, and I’m an award-winning certified Procell Therapies practitioner, offering advanced microchanneling treatments that support real, lasting skin transformation. These tools allow me to go far beyond surface-level care, helping clients feel truly seen, supported, and empowered on their path to healthier skin and deeper self-connection. I truly believe in learning to love yourself into evolution. Supporting healthy, radiant skin starts with understanding what your body and soul are asking for. Through personalized treatments and products backed by clinical research, and through intentional guidance around lifestyle and overall health, my focus is always on addressing root causes, not just surface symptoms. That begins by empowering my clients to understand and nurture the messages their unique, dynamic systems are sending them. My aim is to build not just skin confidence, but body literacy—helping each person feel more in tune with what their skin and overall wellness are trying to communicate.
What I offer is more than skincare treatments—it’s a sanctuary. My work blends clinical efficacy with holistic wellness. Every facial, every product, every recommendation is intentional and designed to support the whole person, not just their skin. If you’re looking for a practitioner who will listen to your story, meet you where you are, and walk with you toward vibrant, healthy skin from the inside out—I’d love to welcome you to R&R Aesthetics.
And if you want to know a little about me beyond the treatment room—I’m a proud mama first and always. My daughter is my heart outside my body, and being her mom is the most meaningful work I’ll ever do. She keeps me grounded, inspired, and constantly growing. Everything I do—personally and professionally—is rooted in the desire to show up for her as my best self. I’m a nature-loving soul, and a total Jeep girl who lives for the open road and dirt trails. When I’m not in the studio, I’m probably out chasing sunsets, sipping coffee, or jamming out to Deftones with the love of my life (loudly and with zero shame). I’ve got an unapologetic sweet tooth and a weirdly intense love for moths.
These are the pieces of me that inspire how I show up every day—grounded, intentional, and always keeping things real.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
It might sound a little cringy, but it’s the honest truth—networking and just being unapologetically myself, no matter the circle or the room I walk into, has been the biggest factor in building my reputation. I’ve never tried to be overly polished or fit a mold that didn’t feel like me. Whether I’m connecting with other professionals, collaborating with local businesses, or welcoming a brand new client into my studio, I show up as I am; passionate, grounded, and genuinely interested in people- which by the way, the best advice I could have received from a now good friend “focus on being interested, not interesting” really allows you to step outside yourself in social situations and takes so much pressure off!
I think clients and peers alike can feel when someone is being real with them. In an industry that can sometimes feel superficial, authenticity stands out. I don’t just want to treat skin, I want to build trust, have honest conversations, and create a space where people feel safe being themselves. That energy has a ripple effect. It creates loyalty, word-of-mouth referrals, and strong community support.
Networking hasn’t been about selling myself, it’s been about connecting, and being consistent in who I am across every interaction. That consistency is what builds a reputation that lasts.

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
I honestly have so many resources I could reference, it’s hard to narrow them down! But if I had to choose the ones that have been the most profound and beneficial to my development as both a human and a business owner, a few stand out.
First, Masters of Success by Ivan Eisner gave me a foundational perspective on what success really means and how it’s built over time. Then, The Inner Work by Ashley Cottrell and Matthew Micheletti completely shifted how I see myself and my inner world—it’s been a game-changer for my personal growth and the way I show up in my business. And finally, the podcast The Game by Alex Hormozi has been phenomenal for expanding my vision, refining my mindset, and cultivating the kind of discipline it takes to sustain long-term growth.
