We recently connected with Faith and have shared our conversation below.
Faith, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today How did you come up with the idea for your business?
This idea of trading stocks has been around for a while. Just found my lane in it and started doing it every day. I knew this was a worthwhile endeavor as soon as I heard about it. I was already investing in equity. I equity is good money but its slow, which is fine. While the slow money is doing what it does, I found a new way to make money in the process. I jumped in with little knowledge and got slaughtered like the newbie that I was. I took the money from my earnings and invested it into education of the market. Currently in the thick of my path.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am a serial investor. Mostly in the stock market and other hard money loans. I first got introduced to it around 2000. Right before the pandemic hit, I had already started investing in stocks with minimal knowledge. I took money from my earnings and invested it into getting the proper education. That’s what ultimately granted me the freedom and I realized what I was able to do was buy my time back. Get money, buy income. Make these companies that you love, pay you.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Sure. When I first moved to ATL, I moved here to pursue my singing career. I always thought to myself, how dope would it be fi I could sing the national anthem in my hometown? I started doing some research on who I needed to contact in order to make this happen. Long story short, I forgot what department I was in contact with, but I received an email from a director saying “Mr.Owens, at this point, I believe everyone in our office knows who you are as we have all spoken to you via email. If we have anything available for performances in the near future, we will be sure that you’re the first to know.” I hate responses like those because you’re never the first to know. I was able to sing the national anthem for the Atlanta Hawks as well as the Washington Wizards twice. Dope experience.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
A lesson I had to unlearn. Great question. First thing that came to mind is school. Middle school. High school. They teach you so much pointless info. As a business owner and entrepreneur now, I understand how the world works and I move accordingly. I never needed to know how to write in cursive. I didn’t need to know about Pythagorean Theorems. Who cares that molten rock is called magma. The school system needs to teach things like how to properly invest in the stock market. Real estate. Financial literacy. Taxes. Things that will help you in your adult life. So, to answer your question, school was the biggest lesson I had to unlearn.
