I believe that the inherent trust delivered by familial nature itself is crucial and is the most important pillar when it comes to family business success. In my opinion, family businesses provide a more personalized and customer-focused experience. My name is Fabio Silva, I am the CEO of Petrus Countertops & Remodeling, I have carved my path to success in the United States, building a thriving business in the stone products and remodeling industry. Originally hailing from Brazil, I made a significant life-changing decision by immigrating to the USA in 1999. My journey is a testament to the American Dream, where, with hard work, determination, and a passion for my craft, I have achieved great success.
In 2008, I embarked on a new chapter of my life and decided to delve into the world of stone products. This decision marked the inception of my business venture, which would eventually become known as Petrus Countertops & Remodeling. My passion for natural stones and a keen eye for quality set me on a path that would lead to great success in the industry.
In 2010, Petrus was officially established, a family-owned and operated business that would become a prominent name in the stone and remodeling industry. Petrus’ journey began with a clear focus on kitchen and bathroom remodeling. We quickly established ourselves as specialists in countertop fabrication and installation, offering top-notch solutions for both residential and commercial projects.
Petrus goes beyond just countertops, as we also provide tiling and cabinet solutions, catering to a wide range of customer needs in the realm of interior design and remodeling. Whether it’s transforming a kitchen into a chef’s paradise or enhancing the elegance of a bathroom, Petrus offers comprehensive services that cater to every aspect of these projects.

Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
I recommend incorporating weekly team meetings at your organization. I discovered that having a weekly team meeting is essential to encouraging cooperation, communication, and alignment among team members. We set aside time during team meetings to share crucial details about the business, ongoing projects, and individual responsibilities. It provides our team with a chance to be creative and work together to solve problems; team members also get to know one another better, which promotes a supportive and cooperative work atmosphere. For Petrus, having frequent meetings helped the team members feel more unified and supportive of one another. I believe that these meetings are essential to maintaining our team’s good morale because of the level of drive, interest, and passion that our team members exhibit at work. Our weekly meeting is held on a virtual platform because some of our team members work from home. It can take from 15 minutes to 1 hour, depending on what needs to be discussed that day. Since each team is unique, in my opinion, it’s important to find strategies that fit the unique dynamics and needs of both your team and your organization, putting it into practice and monitoring the outcomes is my recommendation.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I think that the foundation of our reputation has been largely established and sustained by our dedication to quality, meticulous attention to detail, and customer-focused philosophy. It is essential that we communicate with our clients on a regular basis and actively listen to them in order to grasp their project vision. Since the beginning, it has been our responsibility to provide exceptional craftsmanship in stone products, and following this vision closely has helped us establish a solid reputation in the industry.
