Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Fabio Melo. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Alright, Fabio thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?

Growing up in a humble home in Brazil, I grew up watching my grandfather who was a builder, create a safe, friendly and family construction zone. That really stuck with me as an aspiring labourer in the earlier days of my career. I began to see a stigma around construction, its workers and their trades. My mission has always been to mirror and elevate what I saw in my grandfather, to break the stigma of a rough and rude construction world and instead create a safe space for our clients to feel welcome and part of the process while their dream comes to fruition. We strive to be known as a clean, organized and a complete company instead of chaotic as the construction world stigma seems to be. That is why we are name ‘Kaza’ which signifies “home” in our native language. We want to build homes and not just houses.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

My name is Fabio Melo, Im married to a gorgeous wife , who blessed me with too beautiful children. I grew up in industry, as my grandfather was a builder and my father owned a painting business.
Working along adult mature men’s at an early age, though a few lessons in a sense of responsibilities, craftsmanship and behaviour at the worksite.

When working in construction/ renovation a possibility of running into an unforeseen situation is substantial; however with our knowledge /. Trade partners, we always come up with the best possible solution without compromising our quality craftsmanship. Specially when working with interior designers, most of time their projects always has something new / challenging, and thats what we love. Kaza Contracting focus mostly of our projects with interior designers, it makes it interesting every single time.

We take pride on our quality if work/ craftsmanship. We like to show up to work clean, with uniforms, etc That also delivers a. Piece of mind to the homeowners..

Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?

Treat your trade partners with respect, not only with words, but also with a clean and safe job site for them to work on and pay them on time.

How’d you meet your business partner?

My business partner is my wife, who is my greatest supporter, bringing to my attention my strengths and weaknesses as well, so We can always improve
