We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Eylissa Henry a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Eylissa, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today If you had a defining moment that you feel really changed the trajectory of your career, we’d love to hear the story and details.

My defining moment, was I got a bad UTI, sounds very normal! You think, oh she was just drinking sodas and went into the E.R to get antibiotics when she could have just drank cranberry juice and water! That may be true, but it’s more than that, it’s a mindset, spiritual, and even Health included!

I grew up in a house hold where my mother was holistic, my grandfather owned a farm and was a veterinarian! So herbal medicine has been in my life, my whole life. We all have possibly grown up on poor eating habits, whereas mine weren’t so much! From my grandparent to my parents I grew up in holistics it was rare I got to have junk food! Which later I understood why. One summer as a teen, I drank a plethora of carbonated beverages. Bad for the summer, definitely bad for Louisiana/Texas heat. I drank water here and there thinking if I match it with some water, not being equally balanced I would be fine. Haha, yeah right!

First came the headaches, backaches, and then the side pain. Immediately my mom took me to the E.R and they diagnosed me with a UTI. The antibiotics were the worse, it offsets your body chemistry in a major way and for women even men can lead to yeast in the body. My mother, and I started digging in her homeopathic books, (my mother is a nurse by the way). We found natural ways to clear the UTI and also eliminate yeast too. It worked super fast, that day I vowed I would find my way into homeopathic medicine and do away with western medicine as well poor eating! Of course we can gain weight in many other ways or even eating healthy and taking care of ourselves poorly. But it can be an easier fix than polluting the system and not being mentally focused and consciously prepared to intake naturally what is needed to heal! That was my moment to go into holistics and really study to become an alternative Dr of medicine.

My name is Dr. Eylissa Henry, I am the proud owner of Lotus Mystic Haven. I am originally from Sunset, La by the way of Beaumont, Tx being my second home! I gained my education from SWIHA in Arizona, and Integrated Healing. My company establishment was founded in Atlanta,Ga in 2017. I focus and specialize in Alternative medicine, such as Herbalism, Hypnosis, auriculotherapy and more. I also make and create products for the skin, hair and spiritual needs. My spiritual background is in Shamanism, Conjure (Hoodoo), and Haitian Vodou, under the priest ship of my godmother Mambo Tonya. If asked do I do spiritual workings for people, yes I do. I specialize in court cases but cover many, depends on what the client needs, as well if the spirits agree to the workings once a divination consultation is done. I provide spiritual readings, along with being a licensed therapist.

My online store provides many services, and products for both health, beauty, and your spiritual needs. I believe to work in honesty, integrity, and allowing my spirits to move and not my ego. I provide a peace of mind to my clients and customers, it’s for me to provide you with clarity and to feel valued.

What I am most proud of, is letting go and allowing spirit to guide me to be who I am, and where I am today! I have more room to grow, and a secondary path to walk so I am not finished just yet, it’s only the beginning.

I believe what sets me apart from others is I am just me, I am flawed but I own them, and people love to relate to someone who is relatable! Life is the teacher and I am the student that is still learning, while teaching and growing! So for new comers and returned, I am who I am without limits, I am always a helping hand when I can and if I can provide it at the time, I am but if spirit having a human experience so come with no expectations as I won’t hold any for you!

I started my business with a dream that, that’s all I thought it was, until spirit placed me in the places I needed to be aligned with. People counted me out, thinking I was just a professional student with no clear direction, as I have many degrees and certifications! For a purpose all of them make sense to the roads I am traveling, they make sense! As our plans or visions make sense to no one else but us! As we travel we are hitchhikers hoping to make connections that leave a profound stain on our lives forever, to pass along to whomever.

I hope to get my farming for the city back up and running. Which is to teach the youth about community gardening and giving back to our communities as I settle in my new home in Los Angeles, CA. My company is also green as I believe in taking care of the earth.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?

The best strategy for me, two things being honest and open on social media, I do a lot of videos, and media engagements. Connecting with others also expands my market. The second is the old fashion way, I speak to people I meet everywhere I go, and tell them about my business or just natural conversations where my business happens to come up in the discussion.

Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?

Think and grow rich is probably still #1 not just that one there are a lot more books that I love reading! Think and grow rich helped to change my mindset from the I am poor to I am already successful.
