We were lucky to catch up with Exotique Men recently and have shared our conversation below.

Exotique , appreciate you joining us today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?

I was moonlighting as a male exotic dancer while working in finance full-time. I realized that I was much more passionate about dancing than I was about finance but the fear of failure always prevented me from taking the initial step. It wasn’t until Covid that I had a falling out with my dance employer that I decided to take a leap of faith and start my own business, Exotique Men. It was very stressful and depressing at first and the only positives I could get from it were small wins here and there. Sometimes I would sell a few tickets or get a few calls. But it was tough at first.

At Exotique Men, we’ve redefined nightlife entertainment in New York City by creating a space where fun, sensuality, and empowerment intersect. As the owner, my journey into this dynamic industry began with a deep passion for entertainment and an understanding of the importance of inclusivity and escapism in nightlife. Growing up in NYC, I was inspired by the city’s bold energy and wanted to establish a venue that celebrates confidence, self-expression, and connection. With Exotique Men, I’ve curated an experience that’s unforgettable and uniquely New York.

Our club features a cast of exceptionally talented male performers representing diverse backgrounds and styles, ensuring that everyone in the audience feels seen and celebrated. Whether it’s a birthday, bachelorette party, or just a much-needed night out, our clients come to Exotique Men seeking excitement, entertainment, and an atmosphere that feels as welcoming as it is exhilarating. We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?

One of the major lessons I had to unlearn was to let go of my own limiting beliefs. I had a lot of beliefs that I couldn’t do something or something was too difficult. At the end of the day it was all about my internal battles with myself. I had to start asking “how” can I solve a problem instead of telling myself “I can’t”.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.

Part of my journey involves reaching out to journalists for PR and we get shot down a lot. It requires a lot of resilience to keep going even in the face of adversity and during failure.
