We recently connected with Evitta Morrow and have shared our conversation below.
Evitta, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
My late husband started our business in 1985, it began when he was 43 years old, and he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer. After many years of no improvement, he began to seek out alternative solutions. He met an herbalist who recommended different herbal supplements and after only 2 days he began to feel a major difference!
It sparked his interest, so he began on a journey of learning as much as he could about herbs. People began to see the difference in him and wanted to know what he was doing differently. They would give him money to purchase the herbal products from the company he was using at the time.
He had recently quit his day job and was looking for another, but then realized in that moment that he already had a job. It was very satisfying for him to know that this job would allow him to really help others. He knew that this was what he was called to do! He gained as much knowledge as possible from well-known herbalists in the holistic field.
He started selling herbal products from his apartment and then in 1985 he opened his first store front in Hawthorne, California and formulated two of his very own herbal products!
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I started out in the business similarly to my husband; I was introduced to Common Sense Products in the late 80’s. I was experiencing female issues. I began taking medication and different treatments for 4 years but still had no improvement. A friend of mine told me about Common Sense Products but I didn’t really believe it would help me, but after an episode of dizziness in the car while driving my children, I decided to finally give it a try!
With consistently taking the herbal products and changing my eating habits I began to feel so much relief and my energy levels improved drastically!
Before we were married, I began to help with the running of the business. Assisting with helping customers at the counter and also organizing the finances. I became very passionate about the work, with myself experiencing first-hand the power of the herbs it was easy for me to talk about them.
At Common Sense Products we believe in informing everyone about self-care and taking responsibility of their own health. Because we have experienced our herbal formulas’ powerful effects for ourselves, we believe in our products whole-heartedly and are passionate about helping others experience natural health as we do. We teach the use of living herbs and whole foods to regain health. Our bodies are so resilient that even after years of poor nourishment, if we provide it with the right nutrients, it can restore itself.
We provide a variety of different herbal supplements that help with the different systems and organs of the body. Our main area of concentration is the colon. Gut health has become a big topic of discussion in recent years, but it is something that we have always stressed the importance of. You must start with detoxing and strengthening the colon, every other organ and system depends upon a clean digestive system.
Our formulas do not contain synthetic fillers and have been able to stand the test of time, since its beginning in 1985. With thousands of happy and loyal customers, it’s no secret, we have a quality product.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Honestly, word of mouth, when people begin to feel the benefits of our herbal products they want to share it!
Also, when their friends and family see a difference in their energy and appearance, they want to know what it is they are doing different. Most people are looking to improve their quality of life in a natural way.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
We have our products manufactured off-site. We have worked with our main manufacturer from the beginning, since 1985. We know that they understand wholeheartedly, the standards in quality that we expect in from our products. Our formulas do not contain any synthetic fillers, chemicals, or artificial ingredients.
