We recently connected with Evil Intent and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Evil Intent thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Are you happier as a creative? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job? Can you talk to us about how you think through these emotions?
We’ve had normal jobs before but we’ve always been extremely proud of the cult we have built. If it’s between spearheading a bunch of people who like facepaint and violence or working a 9-5 which one would you pick?
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
We got noticed and gained traction off of pure fucking luck, I guess we were just at the right place at the right time. As far as what we provide, we provide as crazy as a show as we’re allowed to throw. If a venue is okay with fire, we’re gonna breathe fire and bring flame throwers. If a venue is okay with blood, you’re gonna see blood, if the stage is huge, we’re going to fill up that stage with something. The main thing you need to know is we’re bringing the art of theatrics and stage shows back, something that hasn’t been relevant in YEARS. If you’re a fan of over the top, dark, violent shows then we’re exactly who you need.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Having our music heard by people is one of the highlights for sure. Seeing our fans come out and having an amazing time in the same way we did going to shows when we were kids is definitely one of the best feelings ever. The fact that people can see this twisted, deranged form of art and it still resonates with them is really a beautiful thing. We wish we had this when we were younger.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
For our first tour ever we loaded all of our equipment up in a trailer pulled by a pickup truck and went out and slept in the cab in the middle of July in 90-100 degree weather with no food or money. Definitely was a rough one and we all went home terribly sick and in pain but it’s definitely a necessary step to do.
