We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Evie Kevish. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Evie below.
Alright, Evie thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
I knew I wanted to take a risk when I kept thinking “When is it time to leave my corporate job to fulfill my purpose?” I resigned from Corporate America a few months ago and it was the best decision I made, because in order for me to make room and energy for my real purpose, my corporate job needed to go.
I graduated from college with a Bachelors degree in Marketing and always wanted to be in marketing and advertising. I truly enjoyed my career. I was a Project Manager at a Media Agency. However, a shift happened in my personal life that changed the path I was headed on.
I was always so extremely ambitious in my career. Thinking outside of the box, bringing innovative ideas to the table, doing things that no one else in my company was doing etc. Then about four years ago, I had a spiritual awakening. I found my purpose and knew I needed to help others and make an impact.
I have always been into health, wellness and fitness, and I am truly dedicated to continually learning more about holistic health. I knew when when I became a mom that I was going to be a “crunchy mama”. As I was starting to read, research and educate myself more on our food and big pharma, I knew I was not going to take the traditional route when having kids.
I had two kids in two years. It was a lot on my body. As I mentioned, I knew I was going to be a “crunchy mama” so I breastfed both of my daughters, and tandem nursing was a lot on my body. I was always so hungry and thirsty and I ate a lot while nursing. After having my girls, I was a definitely overweight, felt sluggish, had low low energy and I was not feeling confident so I started looking for a change. I needed something different. Something to give me energy, fill me with life and fuel my body with the energy I needed. So I started replacing my breakfast with smoothies. I did that for a year or so and I was feeling good, then I really started to learn more about fruit which brought me to juicing!
I was so intrigued by juicing. I would see people on social media sharing juices and they just looked so delicious. I thought I want to try juice! I did not have a juicer at first so I blended and strained some juices to start off. I liked it so I said let me buy a cheaper, starter juicer on Amazon and if I like it, I will invest in a good one. So in 2019 I did my first juice cleanse and then I said I would juice every single day after that and I have been for over four years now. As I started sharing my journey on social media, more and more people kept asking me about juicing, juicing recipes, etc. So I thought, I want to know more and help others. There has to be a school for juicing. That is when I found The Juice Guru Institute.
I did the Mastery Program at The Juice Guru Institute and started my business as a side hustle. However, over the past couple years my business has continually grown. Finally I reached the point where I thought “Do I stay and play safe with my corporate position? Or take the risk and let it go to grow?” I took the risk and it was so worth it!
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Evie Kevish. I am a 44 year old Puerto Rican mom of two, a powerlifter and techno lover. I lift HEAVY weights and train five days a week in my amazing garage gym – The Rican Hot Box.
I have always been into health, wellness and fitness. I have also very intrigued by nutrition. Which is how I ended up where I am today.
I love to help people find natural ways and solutions to feel better, alive, full of energy and get off of pHARMaceuticals. I do this by helping people detox with juice and I teach them how to use juicing as a medicinal modality again to get off of drugs.
I offer coaching services, I speak at corporate and wellness events in addition to selling juicers and selling my juices locally.
I have been featured in magazines, podcasts, radio and tv showcasing my brand and my expertise in juicing.
What sets me apart from other Certified Juice Therapists is the fact that I look at healing as a whole. I am not here to assist you to lose inches, pounds or be concerned about what size clothes you wear. I am here to help you get your body into a state where it can heal with the juices I prescribe you. I do not focus on numbers, I focus on health and healing. The inside terrain needs to be clean and I can show you how to get there.
Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
Truly understanding that healing is a long journey. It does not happen overnight. Listen to your clients. Listen to your audience. Build your database and nurture it. If you are active on social media, remember your page is for them. Respond to comments and DMs.
Ask your followers and database what they want to see? What issues do they have? What are they struggling with? Then you can create content around this.
Continued education is so important as well! Don’t ever stop learning.
Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there. Reach out to other entrepreneurs and brands for collaborations and or interviews.
These are just a few tips to help you grow.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
Harnessing the power of social media. If used the correct way, it is a great way to grow your brand. I am on Instagram, YouTube and TikTok. These platforms have helped me grow tremendously over the past couple of years. This is great because I can attract international clients and help people from all over the world and I have.
I have also found success by creating a monthly content calendar, sending out newsletters out to my database and making sure my blogs on my site are up to date.
Consistency is the main key point though. You need to be consistent to achieve results and think of it more as a marathon versus a sprint. You need to create quality and engaging content for your audience and show up consistently to make an impact.
