We recently connected with Everett Stephenson and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Everett, thanks for joining us today. What was it like going from idea to execution? Can you share some of the backstory and some of the major steps or milestones?
Everything starts with a thought or an idea. As humans the greatest ability is for us to be able to think. My journey started over two years ago with the idea to help people. From the idea of helping people with a more natural way of a healthy life, I was inspired to create my first business. Every day was a day for research. Some of my research includes what type of products I wanted to sell? What the type of customers I will service? Which market I would like to be a part of? These questions implemented with other strategies has helped me start on my success journey. Starting a business is just like planting a tree. You must plant the seed and care for it every day. Taking actions will allow you to think of more ideas. I am a risk taker. I will bet on myself, and I do not regret it. I’ve planted one seed and now I own many businesses. Many people will find as they start one business, they will be anxious to start another. It’s the thrill. (Well, this is in my case.) I want my tree to be full of stabled branches that are used to help (employ) the masses. My goal is to give people more opportunities in life. Today, I am the owner of My Wellness Factor (www.mywellnessfactor.com) Noah’s Art Acting and Modeling (www.noahsartamdp.com). I also have helped other clients to start and legalize their own businesses. Everyday there are challenges, but every challenge is a chance to make you better. My suggestion to anyone who is thinking of starting a business, just do it. Jump in the game. You will be so proud of yourself.

Everrett, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am Everett Stephenson a native of Dallas, Texas. I am a serial entrepreneur, a published book author, and speaker. (And so much more). My journey started before I even knew it. I’ve always been a creator. It is a passion of mines to create. For the readers that do not know, when I was Ten, I started a singing group, organized our schedules, wrote songs for my group and found performances for us. I believe at this young age, being an entrepreneur was being built inside of me. When I was a child, I never really had an interest to play outside or play video games. I wanted to focus on business and music. I remember there once was a time that we had my grandmother to go to Sam’s and buy us all kinds of snacks so that we could sell around the neighborhood. We did this to raise money for studio time and voice lessons. Now that I think about it, I was a little entrepreneurial back then. It is amazing how live comes full circle. Today I own 3 Businesses, My Wellness Factor (www.mywellnessfactor.com) which provides natural health and beauty products. Noah’s Art Acting and Modeling (www.noahsartamdp.com) which is a youth acting and modeling development program. I also have a business consultation service, which helps people start a legal business.
I am proud of the many things that I have accomplished so far and also being able to touch the world and give back.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Of Course, now we are about to get into the juiciness. Running a business can be very messy when you are scaling and becoming more successful. If you remember my last interview, I introduced my very first health supplement business. It was an online store that has done very well in its industry. Well, that company is no more. Due to a business-to-business lawsuit that has taken place. I can’t say much, but a lesson learned is the “big crowd” is always watching. Especially, when you make over 6 figures as a small business. “The more many you make, the more problems.” This is a true statement. Some of the lawsuit was due to our competition. This suit did not go through, but we have changed the name of that business and rebranded it. The reasons for the rebrand was to create a softer name which is “My Wellness Factor”. I have not disclosed this information to the masses, so you are hearing it first.
This lawsuit has taught me that you should not be to be attached to a name of a business. Be attached to the idea. Some of my business mentors stated to me, that every successful business or person has to go through a lawsuit at some point in their life. “So welcome to the club.” After I’ve done my own research of million-dollar companies and some of the biggest celebrities that has gone through a lawsuit, it all makes sense now. This challenge has taught me how to think fast and correct the problems. Actually, due to this challenge and rebrand, we have made more money as a company and reached more customers. God always has a plan, even when we can’t see it. I could have closed my business and discontinued my idea. But I did not. I’m a born fighter and there is always a solution. If you close the door on me, I will find a window to come through.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for me growing my businesses and clientele has been to advertise on google and YouTube. I suggest these platforms because you can easily reach the world. When you use google ads, I believe the sky is not the limit. Most of my clients has found me on google by searching certain words. If you are looking to start google ads, I advise you to hire someone who knows the platform. Please note that, Google charges us, (the business owners) every time someone clicks on your ads. Once your ad is out of money Google will stop showing them. For example, I use $1000 for ads on google monthly which will allow customers to find me and learn about my business and hopefully buy from my store. Even if the customer does not buy you will still be charged an amount deducting from your current balance. Depending on your set daily balance, whether you spend $10 or $100 a day. Customers will be able to see your ads until your daily limit is reached. The more money, the more potential customers. The only con about this way of marketing is, your competitors can have ai put in place to click on your ads without the intent to purchase, which eats your budget faster and Google stops showing your ads. I have a system in place which stop fraudulent clicks. You will need systems in place to stop unwanted ad clicks so you can get the most out of your ad spend. YouTube works similar. Although, this can be risky if you do not have a budget, I’ve found that it is profitable for me, because of repeat customers. Customers find me on Google, when we ship the products my business card has my website on it, so next time they order, they can go directly to the website. This is how I build my clientele all around the world.
