We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Evencia Janvier. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Evencia below.
Evencia, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Taking care of customers isn’t just good business – it is often one of the main reasons folks went into business in the first place. So, we’d love to get a conversation going around how to best help clients feel appreciated – maybe you can share something you’ve done or seen someone do that’s been really effective at helping a customer feel valued?
So far, I think the best thing I’ve done was send one of my repeat customers a Jell-E Shots goodie box which contained a Jell-E Shots t-shirt, ice pops, syringes, and a few of my signature drinks. She moved and I wanted her to know that I was thankful for all the support she gave me including purchasing my products and sending me referrals. Aside from an actual product or service, customers/clients/consumers are needed to operate a business and I think it’s important to express gratitude to them.
Evencia, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Evencia and the “E” in Jell-E Shots signifies my name and everything I do/make. I launched my business in 2019 and it all started from me making jello shots for a friends event. My jello shots are different from others in a few ways. One being the amount of alcohol I use. You can say I’m very heavy handed when it comes to my pours. Aside from making products, I also bartend baby showers, birthday parties, private events, etc. I have different options to choose from when it comes to booking my services. In most cases I can provide everything including the liquor, chasers, cups, napkins, garnishes, bar setup, etc. and I even customize a menu with signature drinks to go with the theme. Just provide me with an area to set up and I’ll take it from there. I’m most proud of how far I’ve come over the past years and how much I’ve learned. And I’m still learning. Once I master marketing and how to target a larger audience, how to set up and generate certain promotions, how to really track inventory and expenses, and so forth then it’s only up from here. A lot of people may not know this, but since the start I’ve been doing mostly everything alone. I don’t have a team yet, but God willing Jell-E Shots will be expanding sooner than later.
How did you build your audience on social media?
When I first created my social media page I didn’t know what to post because I was judging my work too hard. If I didn’t like the picture, I thought no one would. But that’s where I was wrong. I started posting pictures of everything. Unfiltered, unedited, just raw content. The more I posted, the more attention it brought to my page. After time I started to shift my page to resonate more with me. I’m bold, fun, and a tad bit creative and I think my page shows that. Lately I’ve been making reels of myself making drinks with recipes that are easy to follow. My advice to anyone trying to build their social media presence is to consistently post. You’ll be surprised at the amount of people watching.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I think a few things factor in when it comes to how my reputation was built. For one, my products itself. Not only are they strong, but they taste really good. There’s different flavors to choose from so if you’re not a fan of one, there’s a variety of others to choose. I also believe my bubbly, easy going personality helped a bit. I can hold conversation with almost anyone and I’m open to ideas and feedback. So if something isn’t on the menu that you’re interested in, just let me know because it’s possible that I can make it.
I want to add that although I can hold
conversation with everyone, there’s some that I won’t entertain. When inquiring about my services or products I ask that you please have manners and start with a greeting. I’m very big on respect and I believe in the saying “not all money is good money”.
