Alright, Eve thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Do you feel you or your work has ever been misunderstood or mischaracterized? If so, tell us the story and how/why it happened and if there are any interesting learnings or insights you took from the experience?

I believe creatives are often misunderstood because the world desperately needs people to fit inside of “boxes.” Growing up multitalented and multi passionate, I battled being pigeon holed a lot. I’m not just an actor… not just a real estate investor… nor just a producer…. I’m Eve. Recently, I’ve coined the title “Artist of Love” as I feel it encompasses all of what I strive to do in this lifetime. Whether my efforts pour into building communities up or telling important stories through film. We have to stop forcing people into a single career and criticizing those who wish to change. I think it’ll benefit the world more to be more open to multifaceted artists, business people, etc. Our strengths lie in the crossroads of many varied interests.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

My name is Eve Nichelle Taylor and I am an Artist of Love! In addition to my artistic talents (acting, singing, dancing, modeling, producing, creating, etc) I am a financial analyst for a large real estate development company and an entrepreneurial real estate investor. I call myself an artist of Love because the driving force behind my desire to create is a deep passion for spreading love in our world. I’m proud of the many ways I’ve been able to do that so far in my life. Through coordinating fashion shows, teaching about financial wellness, inspiring others through my modeling work, I’ve impacted many people for the better and helped influence a culture of love. I am shifting my focus this year to film making while maintaining full time work in investment real estate. I’ve explored the fashion industry this past year and am grateful for the “pieces of the puzzle” I’ve put in place. Telling stories with film and theater has always been a passion of mine, and I can’t wait to see what comes of it.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?

Yes! I’m driven by my faith and my belief that Love conquers everything. The world can be a very dark place. I’ve seen individuals grow tired and discouraged by the gloomy outlook of the world. It happens to us all. But I know for certain that just by living, participating, sharing, impacting, being, and creating we can influence the world. My creative journey is fueled by community, love, and inspiration. We all can remember been impacted by a poem, a movie, a show, a story, a book, etc. Art has power. It literally can enact change.

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?

All About Love by Bell Hooks is the best book I’ve read in this decade. I would Afro by my encourage everyone to read this commentary on societal norms that calls us to act; how can we create the world we want to live in? A world that actually has a love ethic. Love is the basis for everything, we cannot have life without it. Seriously…… just read the book! <3
