We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Evan Ringuette . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Evan below.
Evan, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
I always enjoyed making erotic artwork but I would keep it separate from my other work. I guess the reason I did this is so I wouldn’t offend anyone. Last year I opened my own paint and sip art studio and included my Erotic Art Gallery in one of the rooms. Being in a small town, I was afraid I would get some complaints but fortunately it was a success. Many of my guests had a great time looking at my art with their friends and I’ve sold multiple paintings and drawings from mild to very explicit.

Evan, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m a self-taught artist and started out doing custom art. I worked at a paint and sip studio in Ann Arbor, Michigan for 6 years. The owner, Letitia, was the best boss I had. She helped me build confidence and stage presence while instructing paintings to rooms of around 30 people.
After they closed in 2020 from the “pandemic”, I worked in an automotive factory and a recycling plant to make up for lost income. One day my coworkers and I found a dildo someone had thrown in a recycling bin. As we were throwing it around and laughing, I thought it would be a good idea to focus more on my erotic artwork. I also got tired of that job and decided to open my own studio, Avenue Art House with the help of my wife. She’s been supportive of my artwork from day one and loves to watch me paint (on canvas and on her).
This past year has been both fun and challenging as I adjust to being a small business owner. I’m happy I have a chance to share my art and teach people how to paint again. Many good memories have been made in the past year with birthdays, Halloween parties, Christmas parties and erotic art shows.
I recently had to decide if I wanted to renew the lease or move to a new location and I’ve decided to move to my downtown area in Tecumseh, Michigan. My new space will simply be known Evan’s Art Studio and I’m looking forward to more fun times there! My new website is ArtByEvan.com.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
The new direction of my art will be combining my usual style and Erotic Art to the best of my ability. Creating detailed paintings and drawings that showcase the beauty of both scenery and the human forms. My goal is to get people more passionate about erotic art.
There’s a lot of negative views on p*rn and I can understand why some of it can be harmful. However it’s confusing to me how so many people in the U.S. are ok with violent entertainment as long as you don’t show nipples. Don’t get me wrong I love a good violent movie, but how is watching people getting slaughtered somehow more acceptable than watching two or more adults enjoying each other and having a good time? My art isn’t p*rn though, it’s Erotic Art and I hope to have it on your bedroom wall one day!
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist is having the freedom to create anything I can think of. Sharing it with other people, showing them something they don’t see every day and teaching people they can paint even if they think they can’t. I don’t know what I would do without art.
