Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Evan Delpeche. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Evan, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
I’m forging a legacy that’s reshaping how we approach both creation and existence. Embracing on my own philosophy that creation isn’t just about what you do but how you live and the impact it has on everything you touch.
I want people to remember me as not perfect but human, a lifelong learner, an explorer of his identity and embarking on a personal journeys, while setting movements towards personal trophies. An individual who refused to let humbling environments or conformity hinder progress, creativity, or business.
I feel people will come to the conclusion, that my work wasn’t intended to be just another wave or trend, but meant to be enduring, like a mountain I aimed to conquer, leaving a lasting impact.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m Evan Delpeche, 33 years old, currently residing in Providence, Rhode Island. Raised in a single-parent household alongside two hardworking brothers, where our home instilled values of respect and personal growth. Although, my diverse and proud heritage, with a mother of Cape Verdean and Native American descent and a father with Haitian and Cuban roots, has profoundly shaped the person I am today. Growing up in a humbling neighborhood, the horizon seemed limited to what was right in front of us. Although, throughout the years my deep sense of creativity and communication propels me to serve as a bridge for significant transitions in the realm of social change. When I relocated to New York City, it became the perfect fit for my aspirations, as it’s positioned at the crossroads of culture and urban activity, offering boundless opportunities, embarking on my unique journey in the arts and fashion. Creativity is still a cornerstone of my life, as I believe that existence itself is a canvas for creativity, manifesting something out of nothing. I’m dedicated to continuing my journey, utilizing the artistic and creative aspects of fashion and communication to play a dynamic role in diverse cultures.

Simply demonstrating unwavering determination while reshaping the Soulita brand’s perspective and establishing its unique identity. I envision Soulita as an extension of myself, reminding everyone of the joy that can be found in the simplicity of self-care.

Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
One quote that has profoundly shaped my approach to management and entrepreneurship is Karl Lagerfeld’s ‘Personality begins where comparison ends.’ I hold a firm belief that one’s business or brand is an extension of their true self. As an entrepreneur, I wholeheartedly embrace my individuality, enabling me to craft a genuinely authentic and captivating personal brand. In my quest to develop something genuinely groundbreaking, I understand the necessity for entrepreneurs to liberate their creativity from the constraints of constant comparison. My mindset revolves around transcending established comparisons, fostering an environment where innovation thrives.

Do you sell on your site, or do you use a platform like Amazon, Etsy, Cratejoy, etc?
We sell on our website soulita.com. While several factors played a role in doing E-commerce, our primary motivation was a strategic decision aimed at seizing new opportunities and adapting to evolving circumstances. Our goal was to expand our customer base, enabling our brand to connect with potential clients beyond our immediate location, resulting in cost savings, expanded reach, and enriched customer insights. Running a skincare business in our city comes with its distinct challenges, primarily the limited foot traffic, making it challenging to sustain a physical presence. Furthermore, the competitive landscape and the necessity to cater to a niche audience present continuous hurdles. The growing demand for significant innovations in our city’s shopping environment spurs us to question how rapidly we can progress in the physical retail channel. Nevertheless, these challenges have not deterred our dedication to uncovering innovative solutions for thriving in our local market.
