Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Eva Zmuda. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Eva, thanks for joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
What inspired me to start Eva Zmuda Photography?
Photography has always been a way for me to preserve moments and tell stories. Growing up in a tight-knit Polish-American family, I learned the importance of cherishing life’s milestones, both big and small. Whether it was celebrating holidays, playing softball, or capturing everyday joy, I found myself drawn to the power of photos to freeze time and hold memories forever. Starting Eva Zmuda Photography was my way of helping others experience that same magic.
What is the mission behind my business?
My mission is to celebrate the unique beauty of every individual and family. I strive to create photographs that don’t just capture moments but also tell stories-of love, connection, and legacy. It’s about building trust, making my clients feel seen, and giving them something they’ll treasure for generations.
How does my background shape my work?
As someone who spent lots of time watching my daughter play softball and participating in team oriented activities, I deeply value collaboration and teamwork. I carry those lessons into my business by working closely with clients to understand their vision and ensure the feel at ease during every session. My experience as a third generation Polish-American has also given me an appreciation for cultural diversity and individuality, which i reflect in the way i approach every project.
Why do I do what I do?
I’m passionate about helping others preserve their most meaningful memories. Life moves so quickly, but photography allows u to pause and reflect on what matters most. Knowing that my work becomes a part of someone’s story-their wedding album, their family gallery, their legacy-bring me immense joy.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
When I first started Eva Zmuda Photography, I had a big dream but knew it wouldn’t be easy to turn my passion into a thriving business. One moment that stands out in my journey happened during my early years as a photographer. I was hired for a large family session, and everything seemed to go wrong that day. The weather turned unexpectedly, equipment malfunctioned, and I could sense the stress on clients faces.
Instead of panicking, I reminded myself why i started this journey-to capture real moments, even when life isn’t perfect. I adapted quickly, finding new lighting angles, calming my clients, and embracing the spontaneity of the day. By the end of the session, laughter replaced stress, and we captured some of the most genuine and heartfelt photos I’ve ever taken.
That experience taught me the importance of staying calm, creative, and resourceful under pressure. It reinforced my belief that resilience isn’t just about overcoming challenges-it’s about finding beauty in imperfection and staying committed to delivering my best, no matter what.
Today, I carry that lesson with me into every session. No matter the circumstance, my goal is create a positive experience and photos that tell your unique story.

Have you ever had to pivot?
There was a time when i worked for a pharmaceutical company-a stable, secure job that many would consider a dream. But deep down, I felt something was missing. Though i was grateful for the opportunities that role gave me, my heart was always elsewhere. I found myself constantly drawn into photography, spending evenings and weekend capturing moments and exploring my creative side.
As my passion for photography grew, I realized it wasn’t just a hobby; it was my calling. The thought of leaving a steady career to pursue something uncertain was daunting, but the idea of never following my passion scared me even more. I knew I had to make a change.
So, I pivoted. I took a leap of faith and started building Eva Zmuda Photography, It wasn’t easy-there were long hours, moments of doubt, and lessons learned along the way. But every step reaffirmed that I was exactly where i was meant to be. I turned my love for photography into a business that allows me to connect with amazing people, capture their stories, and create something meaningful every day.
Looking back, I’m proud of the decision I made to follow my heart. Pivoting from a career in pharmaceuticals to photography was one of the most challenging and rewarding choices of my life. It taught me that sometimes, the greatest rewards come from taking risks and trusting your passion.
