Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Eva Flowers. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Eva thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
My first meaningful project was ballet. My goal to be a professional dancer felt rushed, I was very hard on myself because I wanted to be ‘perfect’. I took a ballet summer intensive in 2015, where I experienced my first yoga class and felt true relaxation. I started practicing yoga on YouTube with Yoga with Adriene while pursuing ballet. It wasn’t until the end of my senior year in college that I took my first yoga class in a studio. I signed up for my yoga teacher training, shortly before graduating with my bachelor’s degree, I have always known exactly what I want. In the past, I pursued many other projects instead of following my dreams, It seemed it was easier not to pursue what I truly wanted because I didn’t feel worthy of it. I love teaching yoga, I love painting, I love baking, I love dancing! Yoga has allowed me to love myself a little more each day, and with that comes putting in the time to make my dreams a reality. I understand that everything can be a little easier when I learn to trust myself, surrender to the present moment, and allow myself to laugh at life. I can take it easy! I’m learning to love the journey rather than rush to a fake finish line. I am learning to truly be in the present moment and find that all of my dreams- my work- becomes play! I can have fun, laugh, sing, and get paid to be myself – if I allow that to be true.

Eva, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Shortly before graduating college, I learned I had scoliosis. I started going to a chiropractor and while I felt relief after a session, I knew I needed to start doing something for myself that I could take with me long term. The chiropractor suggested practicing yoga daily, and I had not practiced yoga in a few years with my time in college. I found The Lotus Pond, a yoga studio located in Citrus Park, Florida, and booked my first gentle yoga class. I finally felt like I could go to sleep after class! I was a very stressed-out young adult. I offer group and private yoga classes at The Lotus Pond and free yoga videos on my YouTube channel at Eva Flowers Yoga. I can relate with those who have a dance background, are dealing with back pain, and the young women my age who are learning to love themselves fully and wholeheartedly. I hope that all young women can realize their inner strength and beauty so that they too can experience joyful and fulfilling lives.
In 2022, I was introduced to pranic healing by my teacher, Tara Drucker, and in 2024 I completed my pranic healing certification at Pranic Healing Tampa. I am passionate about sharing energy healing and helping others remove the blockages that prevent them from living peacefully and happily.
I own a baking business called Eva Flours Pastry Shop, I love sharing my desserts with other people, and seeing their reactions is priceless! I also share my love for rollerblading and the community in Tampa and St. Pete through my rollerblading page called Bay Blades.
I am most proud of myself! Although I am always learning, it’s a lot easier to breathe and respond before reacting quickly to the emotions that come up in the body. It’s becoming easier to recognize choosing a new outcome rather than repeating a pattern of the past, rather than choosing a new possibility. I am always learning more about how to move with love, what would love do? I love the phrase I am not perfect, but the word imperfect says I’m Perfect! I can hold myself accountable while loving the parts of myself I’m not a fan of.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
When I first decided I wanted to build an audience on social media, I understood that it comes with learning to be seen without caring what other people think. My advice is to find a combination between being your silly self and sharing valuable – educational information with your community. The more I believe in my vision and share that, the more I find other people drawn to my work. At first, I went to networking events because I knew I wanted to be an entrepreneur even though I was unsure of what that would look like. I don’t think it’s important to post every day, I think it’s better to show up for your community in real life and people will naturally want to find you online if they are on social media platforms. I try to post when it feels fun and good – not when I feel like I’m just trying to hit view goals. Share your work and feel proud of yourself once in a while, people will want to work with you because of who you are and what you stand for.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
After my first year of teaching, I felt unsure of how many classes I was teaching and if I was still moving with my heart. I decided to take a step away from teaching with a company. A part of me felt scared about where my next opportunities would come from. Then I realized I could create my own opportunities! I started teaching yoga at the park and began building my community. I hired photographers, became my own social media manager, and truly learned self-discipline toward my goals. Growing up, I thought it would always be someone else who could give me what I wanted. Now I feel that anything I want comes from within. I also started selling my desserts at the park before getting the courage to vend at markets. There is always a step you can take today toward your dreams. I learned it wasn’t about having more money, more tools, or more anything. It was just about believing in myself.
