We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Eurydice Johnson. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Eurydice below.
Eurydice, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
Growing up I never knew what I would be in life. I come from alot of trauma and hurt but the one thing i always knew was out there was love. I wanted that feeling of having some one unconditional care and love me genuinely as well as a healthy love. I met my husband in 2015 and it was instant. The connection we shared was unmatched. He was able to love me past my trauma and pain, while still being gentle with my heart. After years of us being together, even through up’s and down the love remained. In celebration of that love we decided to have a 5 year vow renewal with our children, family, and friends due to us not having a wedding in the beginning of our marriage, we opted for a family member who was a pastor to preform our ceremony quickly. While planning and doing research, I was finding florist, venues, DJ’s, but no wedding officiant. Now there were some out there don’t get me wrong but no one matched my vibe, like my personality that i would want to preform my ceremony. Then it hit me, I would want a “me” to preform my ceremony. I begin doing alot of research on how to be able to officiate ceremonies, the next thing I knew I became ordained. I began advertising my services, and blissfully bridal started from there. I knew i had unique qualities due to be young, african american, and not your typical wedding officiant. Which gave me a leg up in the wedding game. Being able to be face to face with love in my personal life and help people achieve that same genuine love is only a dream and i cant wait to see where this takes me.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Eurydice “Eury” Johnson. I am a 28 year old mother & wife. I officiant weddings while also creating custom wedding apparel leading up to the big day. I provide a loving and unique experience for newly engaged couples, being my authentic self.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Staying consistent, and managing my time. Social media is pretty much your biggest advertising platform, so staying relevant with engaging post and following pages with in your line of work.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Just do it. When i decided this is what i wanted to do for the rest of my life. I started an instagram, and began following venues, coordinators, florist, make up artist. Anything related to the wedding market I followed them. I also sent out marketing emails with a flier detailing my services as well as asking to become a preferred vendor. Social media is hard with algorithms, and shadow banning. My advice is to stay consistent even if your getting one or two likes, just keep posting. The recognization will come.
