We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Eu’Leshia White a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Eu’Leshia, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Parents play a huge role in our development as youngsters and sometimes that impact follows us into adulthood and into our lives and careers. Looking back, what’s something you think you parents did right?
My mom and family supported me since day 1! Without them, I don’t know where my business would be today. They all push me so hard & challenge me to do things I’ve never done before. They’re always like “Try It!” “I know you can do this” or “I know you can make that” when I’m in doubt. When I was younger, and didn’t have a car my mom and aunt would drop off packages to the Post Office, take me to drop off orders, meet people with orders, and take me to the stores to get the supplies I needed. My support system is AMAZING! Through all the trials and tribulations, I never saw my mom give up no matter what and that’s what keeps me going! I’m not going to stop until I get where I want to be.

Eu’Leshia, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m a young, serial entrepreneur from Charleston, SC. I started my first business ‘Bangled By E’ when I was 16 years old. I was selling different charm bracelets, necklaces, anklets and other small accessories(purses, lip gloss, airpod cases, etc.). After doing that for a little over a year, I decided I wanted MORE. I rebranded to The Dollhouse and started making/selling t-shirts, birthday dresses, birthday outfits for kids and adults, customizing shoes, started renting out my Snow Cone Machine, making party favors, Back drops and many more!
I don’t think for the moment. I’m always thinking BIG & long term and that’s what sets me apart from the others. Especially young girls my age, they’re in the moment and focused on other things right now.
I’m most proud of getting this far, sticking to my plan, elevating and building clientele as I go, and staying focused.
One thing I want everyone to know about me is, I will never play about me or anything connected to me (my brands). I would do whatever I can to help keep my customers satisfied because without them, there would be no Dollhouse. I worked entirely too hard to get where I am today and I’m still putting in work to get where I want to be. I always say “Help Me, Help You!”

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
I’ve been promoting my work on just about every social media. Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, & Twitter. When I’m able to pass out business cards, I do that. I run promotion ads or I’ll pay someone with a lot of followers to post for me.

Can you open up about how you funded your business?
When I first started my business, I was working full time and I didn’t have any bills so half of my checks went to my business. Every time I would get pay, I would put some up to buy more inventory for my business. Now, I’m learning how to build business credit and use the credit to fund my businesses. Slowly, but surely figuring everything out.
