Eugenia, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
The Story Behind My Mission:
Eugenia Méndez goes Personal and Professional
The Story of My Life
My musical journey began firmly after a promise made between my Self and my Body-Physical Plane. This promise defines my life’s mission:
To communicate the energy of my spiritual plane
to the collective physical plane
through music.
After several years of inner work, living, and performing music—whether as a pianist, singer, or performer—across various genres such as jazz, classical music, and their crossover with Venezuelan music of Hispanic and African origins, —and composing a few short-form pieces, I composed my first musical story:
SALE EL SOL
This musical art work reflects my desire to share my original mission and my long-standing experience as a music educator and in meditation practice, a journey that has spanned almost my entire life.
How It All Started
Everything began in my early teenage years, a few years after my parents divorced. My mother gave us the opportunity to experience something unique: meditation.
In her search for personal balance and emotional stability for her children in the midst of a traumatic family situation like divorce, my mother connected with a mystical group dedicated to researching topics like archetypal symbology, astrology, Kabbalah, and various deep meditation techniques.
This opened a profound, intangible world for me—one that has grown and evolved until today and continues to be elevated through music, which is equally ethereal and mystical.
Every Crisis is a Call to Search
In my case, I sought—and continue to seek—ways to stay connected to myself on a transcendental level. That is, beyond the merely physical, beyond the limitations of a material body made of flesh, bones, and fluids. For me, transcendence lies in the search for the “why” behind all that we experience—for the essence of life itself and the images that appear in my mind when I close my eyes.
After embracing the principles of meditation and its experiences, and once I began my journey into music, I decided to become a musician as a way to share with the world the message of communication with The All, using music, the most ethereal of the arts, as my medium.
Through this process, we transform childhood thoughts and emotions into creative action, contributing to universal imagery—both personal and collective—on a path of inner growth that benefits everyone. Everything we do has an impact, a ripple effect, and consequences. As artists, our goal is to move others beyond ourselves.
The Birth of “Sale el Sol y Miniaturas Infantiles”
This is the essence behind Sale el Sol and, more recently, Miniaturas Infantiles. Both works are crafted from artistic inspiration to awaken our senses, psyche, and soul. They aim to nurture the childlike imagination—whether in children or adults—and spark a connection with something “beyond” our limited material world, transforming it into infinite substance.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I started my musical career as a singer, pianist, performer, arranger, and producer of my own albums and concerts in Venezuela after studying in my native city, Caracas, and then in Austria and Germany.
I have dedicated my life to expressing my artistic concepts, ideas, and cultural heritage through music performance and education, and in recent years, also through musical storytelling.
Music came to me as part of my family’s core education when I was a child.
Meditation, came to me as a tool that helped me get over my parents’ divorce when I was almost a teenager. Since then, meditation has provided me with a way to explore my inner self, to find relief, self-awareness, and courage.
Meditation and music provide me with strong foundations to stablish a connection with myself and finding balance in my life.
I consider that my mission as a music artist is to highlight, and disseminate specific genres of music which are rapidly losing favor over more modern concepts, and to compose new original pieces for children and families that will further help to their musical education, listening skills, broaden their musical horizons, to precisely develop sensitivity for self-perception through attention to art music.
While living in Venezuela, after my university studies, -until 2009, I produced and co-produced four music albums: Afinidades, Embrase-moi, Inner Rhythm, and Mirando al Sur.
During and after the pandemic, my creativity expanded significantly. Stories, poems, piano music, songs, compositions for various instruments, and meditations were the products of a moment of chaotic stillness. After several years almost entirely dedicated to education, I felt the need to create new music and ways to bring it to the tender ears of the youngest, but in the form of Art Music, inspired by the forms of academic music, to also captivate listeners of all ages. To make this possible, I founded Creaturas d’Eugenia to enable the publication and dissemination of this material.
So, I created, composed and produced musical stories in the form of illustrated book and its audiobook in both languages Spanish and English,
Sale el Sol-Out comes Sun, which subtly introduces meditation and mindfulness, practices I have embraced since my teenage years,
and Miniaturas Infantiles, own art musical compositions for piano based in children songs created by me.
This both works are available in Storytelling books and Music CDs in www.eugeniamendez.com or www.creaturasdeugenia.com

Do you think there is something that non-creatives might struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can shed some light?
I draw inspiration from intuition for creation.
From imagination, dreams, meditations, and the silence dedicated to the creative moment, I perceive and listen to concrete or subtle elements that spark the idea or leitmotif of the musical work to be created. These elements may be images or words, melodic or rhythmic motifs, or even sound textures that accompany a melody yet to emerge.
Of course, although it seems like magic—which, in part, it is—these visual or auditory images have visited my life previously through experiences, some consciously forgotten. They also originate from the daily practice of music I play, listen to, teach, perform, or sing, as well as from visual artworks that linger in my mind after seeing and enjoying them—or not, or from imaginatively savoring them.
I believe that creation is a form of training that requires a dedicated space in our existence, as it is an integral part of life. Creative processes are multiple and diverse, applicable to both everyday and profound matters: work, conflict resolution, decision-making, or simply enjoying the present.
Those who have engaged with the artistic creative process—whether by playing a musical instrument, singing, writing, drawing, painting, reading, or consistently visiting museums, galleries, or live concerts from various genres and trends—may intuit the artistic CREATION process. This understanding is essential for navigating daily existence in the physical realm, especially if one seeks to avoid boredom. Such an approach requires physical and mental isolation to grasp the essence of the process. Overcoming the fear of solitude is essential for developing our capacity for self-awareness and, subsequently, for CREATING a fulfilling life.
