We recently connected with Ethan Mole and have shared our conversation below.
Ethan, appreciate you joining us today. What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?
My parents are my role models. I wouldn’t be the person I am today without them. They have been my biggest supporters since day one. My whole life, they’ve made me believe in myself and my dreams. Whether it was taking me to auditions as a kid, or coming to my concerts as an adult, they’ve always been my biggest fans. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve met a lot of people who come from broken families. Families who don’t support one another, or even talk to each other. My parents couldn’t be more of the opposite. They’ve always been there for me to cheer me on, and even more importantly, been there when I’ve felt defeated or felt like I wanted to give up. I’m grateful every day for them and the life they have given me. I hope one day I can do the same for my kids. I realize now as an adult how important it is to have loving parents, and I couldn’t be more thankful for the ones I was blessed with.

Ethan, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Acting and music struck me at a very young age. When I was a kid, my dad showed me the original Star Wars movies, and I immediately began to dress up as a Jedi and fight lightsabers in the backyard with the neighborhood boys. I knew at that very young age that I wanted to do this for the rest of my life. Music was also a huge part of my life. My dad had been a drummer, and eventually bought a drum kit for my sister to learn because she was in percussion class. She eventually let that go and I quickly took over. In high school I acted in the school plays and played in the drum-line with the marching band. That led me to attend Columbia College Chicago to study acting, and while I was there I joined a rock band that toured and played all over Chicago. After college, the band broke up and I decided to move to Los Angeles to pursue acting and music. I’ve been in Los Angeles for the last 6 years and have continued to act in commercials, features, shorts, you name it. I’m also playing gigs for a few different bands and doing some recording as well. It’s been such a journey, and I’m grateful for all of it.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Not to get deep, but I like to think each of us has a role to play while we’re here on this earth. I like to think we each have our own talents, abilities, etc. that we can use if we choose, to help people. For me, I was always drawn to the arts. I always felt really connected to movies and music, and I think they’ve helped me feel connected to the world around me. The arts to me have always been about telling stories and sharing what it means to be a human being. I hope I can make people feel connected as well through my various projects whether it’s in music or film, tv etc. That’s my real goal.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
I love the collaboration aspect. Whenever I’m on a set, I’m always blown away by the amount of people working together to make the project come alive. As a kid, I never understood why there were so many names rolling on the credits at the end of a movie. Now I understand just how much work goes into it, and how many talented faces there are behind the camera. I thrive in group settings, and the entertainment industry is all about teamwork. It takes a village to create something special, and I think it’s just the coolest thing ever.
