We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Esther Iwunze. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Esther below.
Esther, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
Nine years ago, as a seasoned nurse with 19 years specializing in geriatric care, I embarked on a journey that would redefine my career trajectory. My experience working with seniors struggling with disabilities and isolation illuminated a glaring need for compassionate and individualized care solutions beyond the confines of traditional nursing environments.
Driven by a deep-rooted passion for serving seniors, I embarked on a new venture, establishing “Yes to Home Care” with my husband—a business venture that aimed to address the myriad challenges faced by aging individuals seeking independence and companionship. This transition from nursing to entrepreneurship was underscored by a desire to offer seniors not just care, but dignity, independence, and meaningful connections.
Navigating the initial stages of my business, I encountered the challenge of creating awareness and attracting clients in a crowded market. Seeking a novel approach, I envisioned a platform that would revolutionize how seniors access essential resources and services—thus, Senior Trade Shows was born. This expo platform not only served as a bridge between seniors and service providers but also transformed the narrative by empowering seniors to take charge of their well-being through informed decision-making.
Through Senior Trade Shows, I found a way to not only supplement my business revenue but also establish a strong presence within the senior community. This initiative not only enhanced brand credibility but also positioned me as a trusted authority within the realm of senior care. Most importantly, it provided a lasting impact by empowering seniors to navigate their futures with confidence and autonomy.
In building this platform, my aim was clear—to offer seniors a comprehensive resource hub that transcended traditional boundaries, fostering connections, awareness, and a sense of empowerment. Today, as the Senior Expo Trailblazer, I continue to champion the cause of seniors, guided by a steadfast commitment to enhancing the lives of aging individuals through knowledge, collaboration, and compassion.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
One of the most effective strategies for growing my clientele has been leveraging expos as powerful platforms for direct, face-to-face engagement with my ideal audience. Expos provide a dynamic space to generate substantial leads, foster meaningful networking opportunities with both seniors and industry professionals, and forge strategic partnerships with businesses that complement my own. By strategically aligning with expos, I have been able to expand my client base significantly by tapping into a large pool of my target demographic and establishing direct connections with them.
In addition, we have successfully cultivated a strong network of partnerships, showcasing a proactive approach to building community support and positioning ourselves as a valuable resource. This strategic collaboration has not only enhanced brand visibility but also solidified trust and credibility among clients and industry peers, ultimately contributing to the growth of our clientele.
