Absolutely, I’d like to share an experience from my earlier career in the home loan industry that has profoundly influenced my journey in the skincare business. During those years, I had the privilege of working in a field where trust was paramount. Clients entrusted me with sensitive and deeply personal financial information, such as their home loans and investments. Under the mentorship of a remarkable leader aka Boss babe, I learned not only the technical aspects of the business but also the art of building trust and rapport with clients. My mentor taught me that trust isn’t just about the numbers; it’s about understanding people’s needs, demonstrating integrity, and providing unwavering support.
The trust level I achieved with my clients back then was exceptionally high. They knew I had their best interests at heart, and this trust extended beyond the financial realm. Fast forward to today, in my skincare business, I’ve carried these lessons with me. I understand the importance of building trust when it comes to something as personal and sensitive as skincare.
Just as clients once trusted me with their financial well-being, they now trust me with their skin and face. I’ve found that the principles of trust, integrity, and personalized care transcend industries. It’s about showing clients that I genuinely care about their well-being and that I have the expertise to help them achieve their skincare goals.
The lessons I learned from my mentor in the home loan industry continue to shape the way I approach my skincare business. Trust, transparency, and client-centered care are the cornerstones of my practice, and they’ve been instrumental in building long-lasting relationships with my clients. Having transitioned from the world of home loans, where I cultivated trust and expertise, I found my passion in helping people look and feel their best.
At Mint Skin, we offer more than just skincare – we provide tailored experiences and genuine connections. Most of our clients have become close friends and I love that. Our services range from customized facials to advanced treatments like chemical peels designed to bring out the natural radiance in every individual. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I faced unprecedented challenges in my skincare business. I prioritized safety above all else and made the decision to convert a live/work loft for secure treatments. Additionally, I extended my services through house calls, driving the distance to ensure clients’ well-being.
Looking back, I’m proud to say that we made it through those trying times together. It’s a testament to the strength of our community and the unwavering support of my clients. The lessons I learned during that period have shaped the way I approach my work today, reinforcing my commitment to adapt, evolve, and always put the well-being of my clients first.
Additionally, I’d like to highlight that I didn’t see any clients until I received assurance that it was safe to do so.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Building a social media presence has been a journey of passion and perseverance. I started with the support of friends and family, gradually expanding my reach. My strategy was simple: share my skincare expertise authentically and as consistently as possible. While I’m not a big influencer with the most engaging social media, I’ve learned that staying true to my passion is key.
Engagement matters, so I respond to comments and listen to feedback. Collaboration with industry peers is something that I look forward to doing soon.
For those starting, my advice is to be genuine, consistent, and patient. Building a following takes time, and it’s okay to struggle with social media. I’m still learning to balance my passion with the need for content, but the journey is worth it to connect with those who appreciate what I offer.
